At least her grandparents are confirmed to come from Sinnoh, since she says they're from a region with "tales of the Pokémon of time and space" which happen to be Dragon-types.

She also says that they come from a town "where the past lives on," which happens to be the motto of Celestic Town.

Now that I beat the game, I have more complains than appreciations.

4) I at least wished for the other Gym Leaders to have more of a personality and story. Just look at Valerie's eyes! How did she get those? And Olympia, who looks far more imposing than Sabrina.

I did wonder about why or how she has eyes that seem kinda big and Espurr-ish. Though as far as personality goes I figure the anime will show them and flesh them out more.

Out of all the gym leaders I met I liked how they gave another set of occupations to fit some of the gym leaders like in Unova. Though it only seems to apply to Viola, Valerie, Clemont, and surprisingly the Elite 4. Kinda liked this E4 a little more compared to others with the irony being they seem to have more personality compared to past E4 and a few gym leaders, and you fight these guys last.

I miss Caitlin...
Do like Valerie and Korrina in this generation. Is Drashna a granny...? Makes me think of one...

Mostly excited to face the Hoenn gym leaders again soon ^^

The satisfaction you get when you beat malva ;)Shes also part of team flare.... what? There needs to be some sort of event that gives you a specific pokemon *cough volcarion* but really.

In retrospect, I'm actually really disappointed that they didn't do more with this, there is so much storyline potential in having an Elite 4 member on the evil team. I hope we get XY2 instead of Z so Malva can take a more direct role within Team Flare, maybe even taking over as the leader if Lysandre doesn't return.

It would be kind of weird if Malva was to take a more active role in the future. Judging from her dialogue in the Looker Sidequest it seems like she gained some sort of immunity for helping him. (She keeps her position as an E4, after all) Taking an active role will surely get her in trouble. She seems more like the person to do small crimes in the shadows if you ask me.

Drasna does look a little elderly, but I don't think she's meant to be as old as Agatha or Bertha. I love her though. She was so pleasant and sweet for an Elite Four member.

Yeah, I thought so too. She does have more gentle personality than those two... they're quite grumpy at least in my imagination.

I felt like Diantha wasn't fit for Champion, before you pounce me though just hear me out. All the other champions seemed so assertive, confident and powerful when you talked to them. I just felt like Diantha didn't fit that role as Champion. I would have much rather seen a more confident and boastful character that contributed more to the story (Lance, Cynthia, Blue)

I'll give you Valerie and Olympia. Ramos is adorable and Wulfric eh don't know why he looks hilarious.
Drasna I don't like her because there can only be one original Dragalgae and that's mine!

I loved Wulfric, Ramos and Drasna design plain amazing if you ask me.

What exactly is the appeal of arrogant characters? Diantha was the most humble Champion thus far imo. I don't see what's wrong with a Champion who acts like a normal person and who isn't overly glorified. :x

Rude/arrogant characters (Gonna cite Gary/Blue in RBY and the GSC rival) are fun to fight against, and satisfying to beat, because their antics gave you additional motivation to beat them beyond "I have to fight this person to be the champion". You wanted to put them in their place.

I really like Diantha, but part of me really wanted Alexa to be the Champion. Heliolisk, Noivern, Gogoat, and then something like Mega Gengar, Florges, and Barbaracle would have been a really cool kind of team. But Diantha was great, too. Very elegant and sweet, although I still feel as if she has something to do with Team Flare...

With Diantha I was waiting for a Easter Egg leading to Diancee the whole time. Maybe this Playthru I will see her for her. She was just so soft spoken. I seemed inevitable I would be champ soon. I liked the added trash talk and fully evolved pokemon of the last champions E-4.

I said a while ago that I didn't like the E4 because the didn't live up to what I was expecting. However since I have gone back And fought them some more I can appreciate the differences from the past games even if it is a little more laid back then before.

However I can't wait for Steven in O Ruby and A Sapphire.

I was ok with gym leaders, specially Korrine. I really liked her.
But for E4, i tought it was meh... And Diantha is the worst champion ever.

Does anyone think if we didn't get the Fairy type then the 6th gym would've been a Ghost-type gym?

My reasoning for this is that:
•Each gen before this one we not only had a Ghost-type specialist in each region but also each odd-numbered gen had a Ghost-type elite four member and each even-numbered gen had a Ghost-type gym leader. Meaning that this Gen we were due a Ghost-type Gym Leader (but we didn't get one because the new Fairy-type gym took it's place).

-Gen 1 Agatha (Elite) -Gen 2 Morty (Gym) -Gen 3 Phoebe (Elite) -Gen 4 Fantina (Gym) -Gen 5 Shauntal (Elite)

•Route 14, which is named after Laverre City (Laverre Nature Trail) is a spooky route, with the Ghost-type trainers and the Spooky House would've fit in perfectly with a Ghost-type Gym in Laverre City. Even Route 15 and 16 have the new Ghost-type Pokemon; Phantump and Pumpkaboo.
