Really liked the Gym Leaders this gen, especially Korrina and Grant. Wish they had a bigger part in the story though, design wise all of them looked great. The Elite Four felt a little weak though, at least for me.

Yeah, I plowed through the Elite Four with no problem. I haven't really felt challenged by an E4 since Sinnoh (and even then, it was really just Cynthia)

It would be intresting to see gym leader/elite four with themed teams that have perfect stat pokemon (IV, EV, nature), held items, smogon move sets, and of course good AI lol

I had a bit of trouble with Clemont and Valerie in my Pokemon X version. I play (as always) with Set matches, no items during battles and, for this generation, no Exp Share. It's difficult to beat Electric types with Greninja, Vivillon and Granbull only! And the Fairy gym was even worse as Sylveon has Charm and Cute Charm, so troll against Granbull using Strength :)

It's a bit of a challenge run and I intend not to use powerhouses, but I suppose the biggest challenge is the typing and the fact that Granbull doesn't learn a STAB move until its 40s, which is way too late. Very fun to actually have to invent a strategy to beat the gym leaders instead of just powering through them. But something this run is teaching me is how awful Greninja actually is without the Protean ability, it's just way too frail to actually become powerful with the Torrent ability. Chesnaught was just a defensive tank, gotta love that!

That Heliosk is powerful...having Dry Skin...I was planning to use Water moves on that carkin' thing! My Wartotle was level 44 and the only move I could use on it was Bite! Well, Skull Bash but by the time it would hit Heliosk would have knocked Wartortle out with Thunderbolt...my next pln was to get Drifblim to a high enough level to deal with it. Other Pokemon I have considered are Ledian and Masquerain, but I didn't find one of the latter. Corphish, is also one that can be used. I have Clamperl on the team , and Wingull...level 29...not sure it should evolve.

the elite 4 in this game was a joke. they could have made it abit harder. felt like every pokemon could die of a single move.
(just my thoughts)

I'm amazed the devs didn't think of having any of the beta testers go through the game with an exp share. Or if they did I'm amazed how they could have overlooked, or worse ignored their comments.

I haven't reached that part of the games yet, but I'm pretty sure the Exp. Share item is to blame since it makes training a bit too easy. The Elite Four are supposed to be a challenge so something is definitely wrong if a lot of people think they were too easy. I'll probably turn off my own Exp. Share to avoid that issue because I actually want a challenge.

how is everyone not done with this game i finished in 2 days.

Not everyone gets the game on the first day. Some people still haven't bought the game, whether it's due to a lack of money, simply being too busy or whatever other reason it may be. As for those who did buy the game on the first day, I too beat the game in two days, but that's solely because of how I play the games. Some people might be just playing through a second time, or bought the other version recently and have moved to that. People like to take their time, going so far as to catch everything on each route before continuing. It's not a surprise that not everyone is done yet.

The Gym Leaders where pretty awesome(Korrina best gym leader so far in my opinion)but the Elite four were laughably easy. I liked how Diantha was a multi type specialist but I think her types could have been more diverse.

The Gym Leaders weren't my favorite set, but I don't hate them. Korrina was definitely my favorite if only because she was integrated a bit in the story (plus, she made me giggle with some of her overreacting tendencies :)). Malva and Siebold are definitely my favorite E4 members this time around, but I'm not a big fan of Diantha. She didn't have much of a presence in the game despite being the Champion. :| Her battle theme is cool, but as a character, she's a little underwhelming.

I'll agree though that some of the battles were a little easy, but it's probably because I had the Exp Share on all the time (though Siebold's Gyarados was the bane of my existence :p). Speaking of which...why do some people think Siebold is a prince? He's obviously a chef. lol

If there is a third version, Diantha needs to replace her fossil Pokemon with OU-viable ones (maybe on rematch). Just my two cents.

Scizor can kinda wall Diantha's Pokémon due to his typing along with Bullet Punch + Technician really. It reminds me how you could take on three of the four E4 members with a Scrafty. Overall I think I would put her as my second to least favorite champion team-wise with Blue taking the spot mostly because he's predictable.

I know this is likely coming out of left field, but I am really liking how Game Freak is diversifying the Gym Leaders and the Elite Four in terms of ethnicity. They kind of fumbled it with Lenora in the last Generation -the apron controversy- but I really like Grant, and also the trainers you fight throughout the game are also of different ethnicity. I know this is probably stupid of me to talk about this since racial issues are hotly debated, but I can't help but notice that.

I guess Gamefreak decided to add different ethnicities starting from Black and White because it's based in New York. Though they fumbled with Marlon the most...

Back to your point, you're definitely right on that context. Grant and Olympia seem to be the obvious diverse Gym Leaders but leaders like Ramos (who's very northern scottish/irish) and Valerie who seems to be more traditionally Japanese.

Yeah I really wish they did more with the E4, they didn't seem to bring much of a challenge :/ even on first time through I didn't come close to losing a pokemon
