I received a shiny Raikou on the GTS earlier today and want to double check that it's legit.

OT Gender: not sure. It's on my X
IDno: 40371
Shiny?: Yes

Nature: Hardy
Characteristic: Strongly defiant
Ability: Pressure
Moves: Flash (it only had one move for some reason)
Level Caught at: Not known
Current Level: 40
Stats: HP 123, Atk 81, Def 65, Sp.atk 99, Sp.def 95, Speed 98
Location Caught: Not known. Transferred from Johto

Any other notes?: It's from a japanese Heartgold or Soulsilver

It looks legit to me given its poor stats and neutral nature but I just want to be sure.

Yeah, the Johto roamers are quite known for having terrible IVs. x:
Otherwise, this one does look legal on the surface, given the details provided.
Just in case, however, I'd say to get one more opinion.

It looks plausible, but there's no 100% way to tell if it's legit or not. The player could have used action replay to get master balls, and to make it shiny, but you can't know without having it in that game. If you wanted to battle with it, you could technically say it's legit.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm going to say it is legit as I found no record of it on the Pokecheck website and it looks legal enough. If the player used a code to make it shiny then that doesn't really bother me as much as it was still obtained in the game normally as opposed to being Sav'd or Gen'd. I was really happy when I received this thing and it looked perfectly legit, unlike the obviously hacked 6IV Adamant shiny Groudon and Lonely all 0IV shiny Suicune I received earlier. I've already gotten rid of both of these.

I believe you are confusing gen 3 roamers with gen 4 roamers. Gen 3 roamers had an IV glitch whereby the HP IV was 0-31, the Atk IV was 0-7 and all the rest were 0. I don't recall which games this applied to exactly, I think all gen 3 games bar Emerald, but I'm no expert on gen 3 mechanics, so don't quote me on this one. As for gen 4 roamers, there was no such restriction on their IVs. Gen 4 roamers can have any IV spread the game can generate.

I know what you mean, and I probably got them confused, indeed. My bad. xD
But yes, the IV roaming glitch you speak of exists in Ruby/Sapphire/FireRed/LeafGreen.

That explains why my Suicune from FRLG has a spread of 12/2/0/0/0/0. I've been wondering for years how I had such bad luck....

Oh, I forgot to say I have it on Pokémon X (I was traded it on X too)

Is it still 'legal'?

Yes, it was obtained in Japanese Emerald using the Old Sea Map and then transferred up to X. It's impossible to get Mew on X any other way than PokeTransfer.

Good..;I wanted to breed the Sneasel and Gastly because the have good natures/Ivs and egg moves...so I can use them for Masuda Method right ? But I suppose they won't give their balls (they are male)...

I'm 99% sure that Gastly and Sneasel are legal. They're obviously breeding rejects that someone put out on Wonder Trade. Lickylicky looks legal on the surface, but I'm not as sure about it.

All look legal to me, and Scolipede is legal according to Pokecheck. It might be RNG'd, though, because it's pretty difficult to get a completely flawless Pokemon in Gen V, especially a shiny one. It would be a lot easier to make sure that these Pokemon are legal if you knew how many EVs they had on them, or if you could reset their EVs, or if you could check their IVs at the IV checker.

I can't right now, but in about 20 - 30 minutes I'll edit this post with what the IV checker said

Electivire: above average potential, greatest potential in attack, fantastic stats
Garchomp: decent potential, most in HP, fantastic stats
Nidoqueen: superior potential, most in HP, fantastic stats
Kangaskhan: decent potential, most in Sp. Atk, good stats, low Sp. Def and Speed

almost certain that Kangaskhan is legit, i doubt a hacker would have given it so many weak stats

You'd be surprised, then.
yeah, i probably would, i'm used to hackers who just want to make the perfect pokemon without the effort.

I still feel confident that Kangaskhan is legitimate though
