Hayao Miyazaki Anyone?

This is a thread where you can rate and discuss any Hayao Miyazaki film you have seen, or decide if you want to see one, for that matter. If you have never bothered with any of these movies because other Japanese works have been gay in the past, try to be open minded about these ones. They are seriously some of the best animated movies I have ever seen.

Idk I'd think this would work better in the alt. anime section. But thats just what I think.

Personally the only one I've seen is spirited away and from the amount of praise its gotten, I say its overrated. The movie didn't exactly blow me away like people say

Yes, I somewhat agree with that. I thought Spirited Away was one of the best HAYAO Miyizaki films. However, all of the talk about "Prepare to be...Spirited Away," commercials etc. did go a bit over the top. I still thought it was a great movie.

I do not know who Miyazaki is but when I saw Kiki's delivery service I was like ZOMGWTFBBQ :O

Kiki's Delivery Service is one of my most favorite movies, If I liked that one so much I'm sure the others are worth looking into. I've never seen any of the other movies though. But this guy does make a good storyline.

I've not seen them all yet but out of the ones i have, i'd say Spririted Away is the best, and Mononoke comes in a close 2nd.

I watched Graveyard of the fireflies not long ago, and that made me cry.

I don't normally cry at films, but that really got to me.

Laputa Castle in the Sky, Spirited away, Howl's moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service are my favourite. They have susch interesting Storylines and they way they are executed is superb. That's why I have them all on DVD o:

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is easily my favorite, probably because I'm a cynic. Princess Mononoke is great, too.

I've only seen bits of Spirited Away on television, but what I saw was nice to look at.

My favorite Miyazaki film would have to be "My Neighbor Totoro" but I also enjoyed Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. I love Miyazaki films. They're all good!

Yes, Kiki's Delivery Service is definetely one of the best G rated movies (along with "my neighbor totoro"). Even though there is not much of a "bad guy" (hardly one at all), the plot is still interesting and fun.
