• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.
  • Hi all. We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.

However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.

We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible

Today 25 years ago in Japan (Timezones may vary), the second episode of the Pokemon anime premiered and with it, the official debut of the lovable trio!!
Happy 25th anniversary TR <3
Despite being overused in certain sagas and having moments of stagnancy, these three characters have always been a delight to see on the screen and while watching dub episodes Im just reminded of how much they crack me up and enhance an episode, they are popular with the older audience a lot and rightfully so!! I wish their 25th anniversary episode aired when it was supposed to but complications happen, still love these three with all my heart and hope they get a proper status quo change and ending with Ash!!
Here is a wonderful thread by Dogasu Backpack talking about various trivia for TR:
So, what are your favourite aspects of TRio and what are your favourite memories of them? And if you dislike TRio a lot, sure come again and for the millionth time tell us so, but I hope the majority can celebrate these iconic characters with the fanfare they deserve!!

Humans are tools
All i remember about debut is within 10 minutes they turned from life threatening villains to gag villains who were holding for there dear life after getting by pikachu, it was funny. They have there own charm.

I love how TRio always are hilarious, especially in the dub, and my favorite thing about them is WOBBUFFET!!!!! I love that blue blob so much! They are great comic relief villains.

It says something that, as repetitive and overused their shtick got over the years, as abused, altered or neglected they were by creative forces, Team Rocket are STILL one of the most iconic and endearing forces in the show. They're just too hard to hate the presence of, and I feel really set off the chain of likeable complex cartoon villains being mainstream (at least in the west, anime arguably done it more often before).

While the anime doesn't seem to be overfocusing much fanfare on their anniversary (even holding off their celebration episode for a fan favourite return), it's a worthy milestone to celebrate and I only hope the show gives the trio more love.

On a side note, I've been making a more unrestrained analysis of the Team Rocket trio and their use throughout the show individually, read if you want:

Jessie

James

Meowth

Pikachu979

Sinnoh Champion
I personally have always loved team rocket especially Jessie. I love her over the top personality, her one liners though they all have good ones, and the Pokémon she catches especially her mimikyu and her seviper. I also loved her era as a coordinator in DP.

Would definitely recommend anyone even remotely interested in the TRio to check out your analysis, they are so well done!
