Yes, today is Darwin Day. Feruary 12, 2009 is the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin, and the 150th anniverary of his book On the Origin of Species.
My school is having something to celebrate his birthday, and I can go for extra credit in my Organic Chemistry class.
It feels wierd to celebrate Charles Darwin, when I never see a day for Newton, Kepler, Einstein, or any other beneficial scientist.
Is there something so wonderful about the theory of evolution and naturalism that I am missing? What is the impact of Darwin's ideas?
I know that people like Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, and Mao followed his ideas politically. Evolutionist turn their eyes away from that past.
Richard Dawkins, Darwin’s famous promoter, put it like this, “I’m a passionate Darwinian when it comes to science, when it comes to explaining the world, but I’m a passionate anti-Darwinian when it comes to morality and politics.” They want it both ways.

Lol, I even noticed on Google, that they put finches on their main page.
oh, yeah, it is Abe Lincoln's 200th birthday too.
