Hardest Gym Leader

Sorry Im sure this has been done before but Im just curious. Who did you think was the hardest gym leader? I personally thought Whitney was they hardest. Normal Pokemon dont have any true weaknesses but fighting and I dont think there were any available at that point in the game. I thought the second hardest was easily Jasmine. Mostly because I always pick Chikorita, and plant isnt very powerful against Steel;152;

although Whitney was fairly hard, only because her Miltank had Rollout, it wasn't enough to hold me down. Clair was tough, though, because you don't have access to any Dragon-type moves before this gym.

Whitney was such a curveball as a gym leader. Who has a normal type gym? Then her pokemon ends up using a rock type move the entire battle. Rough battle and it almost made you wanna trade an abra to the kid in the pokemon center for a Machop.

i found whitney hard... since i usually pick cyndaquil and her miltank has the rolloutm, but the clefairy was easy. clair was hard, especially with her kingdra D:

Well no, actually Machop is available at that point.
A man trades Machop for Abra, which you can easily buy at the game corner.
To me, Whitney isn't very hard. Of course,all Whitney's Normal are
not very effective against Geodude The only stupid part was that I used
Selfdestruct while fighting Miltank, so the experience was wasted

To me, the hardest one was Jasmine. She KOed my Pokemon like 8 times
because at that time I was just a n00bie, and I trained ALL Pokemon that
I caught. So when I reached Whitney, I was horribly underleveled >.<
Lucky the egg the Day care man gave me hatched into Magby (shiny XD)
and I trained it until it learns Fire Punch and level up a bit to beat her.
For Steelix, I used Dragon Rage (Gyarados).By the time I won, my money
was drained (I didn't know at that time losing loses me half of my money)

Claire was a bit hard too, but I trained my Seel until it learns Ice Beam and
pwn her 2 Dragonairs with that. (the remaining one had Thunderbolt so I pit
Graveler against it instead)

So, it's Jasmine.

oh my god morty, i suffered so much against him, i kept using awakening and i won him!!! Too, by the way, whitney's miltanks is a bi...big meanie...but since i used the onix form falkner's city, i won!!

Clair is hard because of thunderwave. If it wasn't so haxxed, she'd be easy to beat.

Whitney, most definately. Most of the time, when ever I battle her, it takes me at least 3 tries before I win.

Clair's Kingdra somewhat gave me a hard time.

Definitely Whitney.
Even with a Machop, she's a tough one.
Although the more i replay the game, it does get slightly easier, but overall she's the toughest.

Whitney was the hardest. everytime when i fighted her i had pokemons what were good level and she still winned me. she was the only gym leader who winned me of johto gym leaders.

Whitney was easy IMO, but so was Claire, Blue was kinda hard.

Whitney. I don't like using Machop or Geodude so I was stuck with using brute force against the damn Miltank.
Jasmine's Steelix and Claire's Kingdra are honorable mentions.

Whitney, her Miltank always took out my Pokes, includin my Crocnaw I had at the time, I finally managed to neat her using a million super restores

Whitney usually gives me the most trouble whenever I start new files. Even with Pokemon ten levels higher, I get some grief from the Rollout and Attract combo. Though, I try to use male Pokemon for that battle.

Whitney's miltank was the hardest for sure, however i beat all the gyms easily. Clair's dragons appeared to be weak against my crobat's fly?

morty, he was tough, and he was ghost. his gym was dumb too. i dont see how everyone hates whitney. she was easy....i do admit that her miltank was annoying though.....it kept recovering!

Definitely Whitney, each time I played I thought I'll beat her easily, but of course attract+rollout is BOTH annoying and deadly.

If I think of others, Morty's Gengar's Hypnosis hits much too othen, Steelix is hard to kill, but isn't much of a threat and Clair is quite tricky to defeat, but not too hard anyway.
