Harry Potter: The Resurrection of Darkness

Based off a RPG by Masterwannabe/Draco Malfoy with his permission

Basic Overview of Harry Potter:

For as long as anyone can remember, there have always been two worlds on this planet. The normal, ‘muggle’ world and the ‘wizarding’ world. This ‘wizarding’ world that co-exists with the ‘muggle’ world is home to people with magical abilities called Wizards for males and Witches for females. These Witches and Wizards are still nonetheless, human beings; there is no way of telling them apart from ‘normal’ people. They are still so called Homo sapiens; there is no physical difference between them and us. The only difference is Witches and Wizards possess fantastical, unreal, even deadly supernatural powers which they call, magic. Magic ranges from the ability to levitate a small teaspoon to the power to cause a Hurricane, even to take lives in mass numbers with the simple flick of a wand. Nonetheless, even though their powers and abilities are great; they are still human beings, and speak in the languages used by humans. And so the Wizarding World existed alongside our world.

Until the recent, no human knew the Wizarding World existed. And now, still only a very miniscule amount of people know it does. Our world and theirs had peacefully co-existed for many centuries. We are of the same flesh and blood with them in the end; some wizards are perfectly fine with the fact the so called ‘muggles’, non magical people in their language, share the same earth and soil with us. Some wizards even intermarried with married and their children, who are of mixed blood, magical and non-magical, are called ‘Half-Bloods’.

Unfortunately, not all wizards are as mild and open minded as it is desired. Not wizards are good, some turn bad, evil. These wizards turn to the darker aspects of magic called the “Dark Arts” and openly show their have for muggles. These dark wizards believe in Wizard Superiority over muggles and believe in the so called ‘blood purity’; that wizards of pure magical blood, Pure Bloods, are superior to all of those who are not, and should be rid of. They torture and kill muggles; they blackmail Half-Bloods, they even commit mass genocide of ‘Muggle-Borns’, witches and wizards who do not have even a drop of ‘magical’ blood in them, yet have magical abilities. Lastly, the most gruesome of all, these people will not stop at any chance to achieve their goal; all who stand in their way are killed. For many years, good wizards fought against these evil corrupted wizards; to preserve peace in both our world and in theirs. Many lives have been lost on both sides but in recent times, peace had been preserve and the evil wizards were no more. But they were not gone; for they lied dormant in the ranks of wizards, patiently waited for the perfect chance to strike. All they needed was a leader to lead them in battle and to achieve their goal…

In the Twentieth Century, peace seemed to be stable; both the Muggle World and the Wizarding World was at peace. But this about to change… On the Thirteenth of July, 1943, the murder of a Muggle-Born witch in Hogwarts, a school of Magical Education for Witches and Wizards, was recorded the first since the late Ninetieth Century. The Wizarding Authorities investigated these murders; at first it only seemed late a simple everyday murder, little did they know that these murders were much more significant than they seemed, much more… Soon, it was revealed to be the work of the heir of Slytherin; Hogwarts was in danger of closing, but when a young student was convicted of the crime, it seemed it was no more but that wasn’t the end. Soon more murders happened, and this time they were not just Muggle-Borns but Half-Bloods and even Pure Bloods as well. Chaos was everywhere. The Wizards then finally realised a deadly truth; the evil Wizards were back, now reunited under the most powerful and deadly wizard of the Twentieth Century, Lord Voldemort.

Everywhere, there was chaos. The evil wizards, who now styled themselves as ‘Death Eater’ under the lead of the Dark Wizard Lord Voldemort, killed and massacred people, Muggles and Wizards alike, in mass numbers. The Death Eaters set a mark above the site(s) where they committed murder called the Dark Mark; soon people grew terrified of the Mark. People lived in fear; they called the time they lived in the Dark Times and soon they were even too scared to say Voldemort’s name, calling him You-Know-Who and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Nobody was known fight Voldemort and live to tell the tale, not one person had survived Voldemort. No one dared to oppose the Death Eaters but a group of good wizards joined and opposed the Death Eaters. They called themselves the Order of the Phoenix. The Order fought rigorously against Voldemort and his Death Eaters but no avail. But in the midst of all the fighting, a young couple found love and they married. Their names were James Potter and Lily Evans. James and Lily were both members of the Order and were one of the Death Eaters’ targets. But three times the young married couple evaded the Death Eaters. Albus Dumbledore, the Headmaster of Hogwarts and the leader of the Order knew this couple was in danger and Voldemort would in the end, personally hunt the Potters down and he knew the reason why Voldemort was so desperate…

In 1979, Dumbledore was trying to find a new Divination teacher for Hogwarts when he met Sybill Trelawney, the great-great-granddaughter of a famous and gifted Seer, Cassandra Trelawney. Dumbledore was assessing the witch’s Divination abilities when she entered a trance in the presence of Dumbledore and uttered a prophecy:
"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches ... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies ... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not ... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives ... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies ...’

One boy was found to fit the description of the prophecy: Harry Potter (born July 31), son of James and Lily Potter. Severus Snape, a Death Eater, overheard part of Trelawney's prophecy, but his eavesdropping was interrupted by the barman of the Hog's Head Inn. Snape thus failed to pass on the second part of the prophecy, and so Voldemort missed key details about his future foe. Although there was also one other boy who also fitted in the description of the prophesy (Neville Longbottom, born 30th July), Voldemort saw the infant Harry as a more likely threat than Neville. He thus “mark[ed] him as his equal”. It was this act of Voldemort's that confirmed Harry as the one to whom the prophecy referred.

On October 31, 1981, Voldemort arrived at the home of James and Lily Potter, in Godric's Hollow. The Potters knew Voldemort was searching for them, and had gone into hiding by means of the Fidelius Charm, a very powerful enchantment that hides a secret inside a single, living soul ("Secret-Keeper"). Originally, family friend Sirius Black was to be the Secret-Keeper, but he switched roles with another, Peter Pettigrew. Pettigrew betrayed the Potters and gave Voldemort the knowledge of their whereabouts. James Potter was killed in the confrontation, and Lily sacrificed her life attempting to save her son. This act of love granted Harry an unexpected charm of protection, which foiled Voldemort's attempt to use Avada Kedavra, the killing curse, on the baby.

Due to the protection spell, the killing curse backfired on Voldemort, and the one-year-old Harry became the first and only known survivor of the Avada Kedavra curse. The curse left the infamous lightning bolt scar on Harry's forehead, created a link between their minds, and granted Voldemort's ability to speak Parseltongue (the ability to speak to snakes) to Harry as well.

The news of Voldemort's downfall spread fast through the Wizarding community. Without his personal power to back them up and a leader to follow, many of his Death Eaters were defeated or they gave themselves up. A few faithful followers attempted to find him, but were unsuccessful and were caught and sent to Azkaban. The atmosphere of terror that had held sway so long over the Wizarding World was lifted. Overnight, Harry Potter became a celebrity, popularly called “The Boy Who Lived”.

But Voldemort was not dead. He was alive but barely. He was reduced to a barely-alive shell of his former being, and virtually disappeared for over a decade. He only survived the backfiring of the killing curse because he had previously split his soul into six pieces, five of which were already concealed in Horcruxes. A Horcrux is a magical object created through the use of the Dark Arts by evil witches or wizards who wish to avoid death. To do so, they conceal part of their soul within an object — the Horcrux — that is usually hidden away in a safe location.

Thus protected, they become immune to death while it exists. Even if their bodies are destroyed, part of their soul remains earth-bound and undamaged. However, the destruction of the creators' bodies leaves them in a state of half-life, “lesser than the meanest ghost”. Horcruxes are not invulnerable, as is seen with Tom Riddle's Diary. Destruction of the Horcrux destroys the fragment of soul contained within it, ending the protection it provides, and rendering the creator vulnerable. Voldemort is the only wizard known to have created more than one.

For thirteen years, there was peace in both the Wizarding and Muggle Worlds. Young Harry Potter grew up during the space of those years, under the guidance of Dumbledore and his abusive Muggle relatives. He was sorted into the House of Gryffindor and became friends with the rather humorous Ronald Weasley and the talented Hermione Granger. But during this time of peace, Voldemort waited patiently, in exile in the forests of Albania.

Many events threatened Harry’s life during Voldemort’s Exile, including the re-opening of the Chamber of Secrets, but each time, Harry escaped with his life. But finally, a series of incidents forced Peter Pettigrew, who had betrayed Harry's parents to Voldemort, to leave hiding and to go in search of Voldemort. While seeking his one-time master, he kidnapped Bertha Jorkins, a witch in the Ministry of Magic, the Wizarding Authorities, from whom Voldemort learned of Barty Crouch Jr., a Death Eater who had been smuggled out of Azkaban and was privately confined at his father's house. Voldemort also learnt from Jorkins of the Triwizard Tournament, a magical competition where the three magical schools, Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Drumstang unite to compete. Voldemort then using this information formulated a plan. Using Pettigrew's help, Voldemort created a rudimentary body, corporeal enough to perform magic with. He planned to re-create his original physical body, albeit stronger than before, a plan to which the kidnapping of Harry Potter was vital.

In the Tournament, Barty Crouch Jr., disguised as Mad-Eye Moody, followed Voldemort instructions; he first bewitched the Goblet of Fire, the magical artefact which chose one student from each school to compete, to select Harry Potter as one of the contestants. He then made sure Harry passed each round and finally, the turned the Triwizard Cup into a Portkey, which teleports people who touch it to a predetermined destination. The Portkey teleported Harry and another contestant, Cedric Diggory, into a graveyard where Voldemort was to be reborn. Pettigrew killed Cedric with the Avada Kedavra using Voldemort's wand and tied Harry to the tombstone of the Riddle family. He then used an ancient ritual of Dark Magic to recreate the body he had before his curse rebounded at the beginning of the first book. This process required several key ingredients: “Bone of the father, unknowingly taken”, “Flesh of the servant, willfully given”, and “Blood of the enemy, forcefully taken.” Then Voldemort was finally reborn, using the bone of this father, the flesh of Pettigrew and the blood of Harry Potter. After being reborn, Voldemort summoned the Death Eaters back to him, and attempted to kill Harry — but Harry escaped the Dark Lord yet again

Dumbledore responded by recreating the once disbanded Order of the Phoenix, setting up headquarters in Sirius Black's family home at Number 12, Grimmauld Place, London. He also sent messengers to persuade giants, and other non-human magical beings away from Voldemort's side. Unfortunately, the Giants, Dementors and Werewolves had already allied with Voldemort. But fortunately some of the non-human magical beings were persuaded and joined the Order’s side, the most notable being the Merpeople and the Centaurs.

After Voldemort’s plan to secure the break-out of some of the Death Eaters from Azkaban was a success, the evil Wizard embarked on a scheme to kill Harry and claim the full record of Trelawney's prophecy regarding Harry and Voldemort, stored in the Ministry's Department of Mysteries. His plan failed, and the only accessible copy of the prophecy was destroyed. There followed a wizarding duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort, until finally Voldemort vanished, taking Bellatrix Lestrange with him. He was seen by the Minister for Magic, who had formerly refuse to accept Voldemort’s return, finally accepted that Voldemort was back. This led to a return of the earlier fear and suspicion among the Wizarding community, which was fuelled by Voldemort's continuing attacks and schemes as he regained strength.

Voldemort's next step was to engineer an attack on his most formidable enemy, Dumbledore himself. This was attempted by Draco Malfoy, who managed to arrange access into Hogwarts by means of two enchanted cabinets, which bypassed the extensive protective enchantments placed around the school. Despite the fact that this allowed Death Eaters the chance they needed to enter Hogwarts, it was Severus Snape who used Avada Kedavra against Dumbledore, after Draco Malfoy refused. With “the only one he ever feared” dead, Voldemort's greatest enemy (bar Harry) is no more, and the scales of the battle have now tipped, it seems, in favour of Voldemort. Harry, his friends and the Order are now the only hope of saving both the Wizarding World and the Muggle World from eternal darkenss as Harry now embarks on a quest to destroy Voldemort and his Horcruxes, once and for all.

Voldemort's fatal flaw was underestimating Harry Potter though. When Harry's seventeenth year began, Voldemort had already inflitrated the Ministry of Magic, and installed Severus Snape and the vile Carrows in Hogwarts as his representatives. He did not know that anyone was actually aware he had seven Horcruxes and that Harry, Ron and Hermione had already began hunting them. Voldemort was more occupied with trying to find the Elder Wand.

The Elder Wand is one out of three parts of the fabled Deathly Hallows. The owner of these three objects were said to become the Master of Death, and able to control it. The Elder Wand was the most powerful wand in existence which could only be controlled by its master; if a wizard or witch defeats the master of the Elder Wand, the ownership of the Hallow falls to the winner. Voldemort craved this wand more than the other two Hallows: an Invisibility Cloak which hid the user from existence itself and a Resurrection Stone which could bring back the dead.

Albus Dumbledore was the owner of the Elder Wand, and while Voldemort was still trying to unearth this fact, Harry and his two friends had managed to capture and destroy the Locket (one of the Horcruxes) with the use of the Sword of Gryffindor and the help of a Doe Patronus-wielding stranger. Then, Harry managed to rescue Luna Lovegood, Ollivander, Griphook the Goblin and Dean Thomas from Voldemort's Malfoy Manor, disarming and stealing Draco Malfoy's wand in the process.

With the help of Griphook, Hermione Granger managed to masquerade as Bellatrix Lestrange, Voldermort's lieutenant, and steal Hufflepuff's Cup, another Horcrux, from Gringotts. But in the process, Gringotts were broken, Voldemort had become aware of the danger to his Horcruxes. Time was running out.

Harry Potter and his two friends travelled to Hogwarts with the help of Aberforth Dumbledore, and captured and destroyed Ravenclaw's Diadem, another Horcrux. But by this time, Voldermort had discovered the Elder Wand and scrounged it from Albus Dumbledore's tomb. Hogwarts was now under attack from Death Eaters and the last battle of the war began: the Battle of Hogwarts.

Many people died in the battle such as Remus and Nymphadora Lupin, Fred Weasley, Padma Patil and Colin Creevey but the worst death was Severus Snape's. Voldemort, believing Snape to be the Master of the Elder Wand, killed Severus with his Horcrux-Snake, Nagini, with Harry Potter watching. Snape, in his dying breath, gave Harry his memories, and Harry viewed them. They are shocking and tide-turning.

Severus Snape was not a Death Eater - he was Dumbledore's man through and through. He was in love with Lily Evans, and was the mysterious man who conjured the Doe Patronus and helped Harry. Dumbledore had Snape promise to kill him if the situation demanded it; the curse placed on the Horcrux ring had limited Dumbledore's life, regardless.

But all is not good: Harry also learns from these memories that Harry is the seventh and last Horcrux, and that Voldemort cannot be killed until Harry himself is killed by Voldemort. Now resigned to his fate, Harry tells Neville Longbottom to kill Nagini (the other remaining Horcrux) at all costs, then before he sacrifices himself to Voldemort.

As he heads to his death, Harry opens the Golden Snitch left to him by Dumbledore to reveal the Resurrection Stone. After turning it three times in his hand four silvery figures appeared in front of him they were his parents, Sirius, and Remus Lupin after conversing shortly, Harry ventures into the forest surrounded by Dementors he finally reaches Voldemort and drops the stone and the figures disappear. He refuses to fight back against Voldemort, and is seemingly killed.

However, Harry finds himself in a sort of dream, and meets the deceased Albus Dumbledore in what appears to be a deserted King's Cross Station. Here, it is explained he cannot be killed by Voldemort whilst Voldemort lives, since Voldemort used Harry's blood to recreate his body. Also, Lily's protection over Harry binds the two. He appears to be in a near-death state in which he can speak to Dumbledore.

He also discovers that the part of Voldemort's soul he had had inside himself has been separated by the attempted murder and is represented in his vision by a flayed naked child, whimpering in agony, and abandoned under a bench.

In Dumbledore's opinion, only Harry is worthy of possessing the Deathly Hallows. Harry is given the choice of dying or of returning to try to stop Voldemort. Harry chooses to return and fight.

Back in the forest, Voldemort's orders Narcissa Malfoy to check and see if Harry is dead, after subtly notifying her son is alive and well inside Hogwarts, she says he is, Afterward Voldemort orders Hagrid to carry Harry back to Hogwarts. Voldemort challenges Hogwarts to surrender, but is faced down by Neville. Voldemort proceeds to torture Neville, who is wearing the Sorting Hat. At that moment, the centaurs join the side of Hogwarts in the battle, and attack.

In the confusion, Harry covers himself with the Invisibility Cloak. Nagini, the last Horcrux, is killed by Neville using Gryffindor's sword, pulled from the Sorting Hat.

In the ensuing battle, Bellatrix is killed by Molly Weasley after Bellatrix goes after Ginny. Harry reveals himself to prevent Voldemort from killing her in retaliation.

Coming face to face with Voldemort in the Great Hall, Harry is seemingly faced with impossible odds - with Voldemort possessing the Elder Wand and having killed its previous master, Snape, he cannot be beaten in a duel. However, Harry wagers correctly that Draco Malfoy, by means of Disarming Dumbledore on the Astronomy Tower, was the wand's true master. Since Harry had took Malfoy's wand, the mastership of the wand passed to Harry, not Voldemort. Harry also attempts to save Voldemort from himself by daring him to feel remorse, calls him by the name Tom, and warns him of the fate that awaits him if he cannot feel remorse. This shocks Voldemort more than anything Harry has said to him up to this point.

Harry explains all of this to Voldemort, who chooses not to believe him. Voldemort attacks Harry. When Voldemort strikes Harry with the Killing Curse from the Elder Wand, opposed by Expelliarmus from Harry, the Killing Curse rebounds on Voldemort. Harry's theory has been proven correct - the Elder Wand refused to kill its true master. Voldemort, bereft of all his Horcruxes, finally dies.

Harry is now master of all three Deathly Hallows, but chooses to deliberately lose the Stone of Resurrection and hopes to deactivate the Elder Wand as well. But there is one crucial fact not even Dumbledore realised: the Deathly Hallows can never be destroyed...

Seven weeks after the death of Voldemort and the end of his reign of terror, the Ministry, under the leadership of Kingsley Shacklebolt, tries to reorganise the now-chaotic and devastated world of magic. The world had still not recovered from the war, and people are still hurting and healing, paranoid beyond words. Shacklebolt begins a Ministry-crackdown on another remotely connected to Voldemort, and a frenzy wave of terror begins again.

Just like the Salem Witch Trials or the French Revolution, people panick and accuse each other of Death Eaterhood. Anyone accused is not even given a fair trial, and is immediately executed via poison. People are afraid another Voldemort might appear and soon, things begin to escalate into pure chaos.

Draco Malfoy and his family are arrested and put on the waiting list for execution-without-trail for aiding Voldemort. The Ministry had literally gone mad with terror and paranoia, performing acts nearly as heinous as the Death Eater's. People such as Dolores Umbridge fan this flame, and hell finally breaks loose when the worst possible happens: Harry Potter goes missing.

Not only him, but also his friends: Ron and Ginny Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, and Luna Lovegood. The Ministry begins to accuse and imprison the innocent such as even their Minister, Kinglsey Shacklebolt, and their friends such as Aberforth Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall for the kidnapping of Potter and his friends. The Order of the Phoenix secretly reforms in response to the Ministry's chaotic reign of terror but they are soon overwhelmed by the new threat of Dark wizards.

Rumour has it that former Death Eaters have reformed and gathered in the dark hills of Albania, recruited by a former protege of Grindelwald. Grindelwald's followers, known as the Knights of Walpurgis, were obedient to Grindelwald's every word and command. Grindelwald, before facing Albus Dumbledore in his last duel, told his followers to disband and to lead normal lives, ignoring all they have done. They were to never travel to Britain or bow down to the will of any other Dark Lord other than the Heir of Grindelwald, as proclaimed in his Will.

The Knights of Walpurgis, due to this, have not been heard of in the last few decades, and did not affiliate themselves with the Death Eaters, but with the death of Grindelwald to the hands of Voldemort, his will had finally been revealed, including the naming of his heir. No one knows the exact contents of the will but now, the heir and protege of Grindelwald has regrouped the Knights of Walpurgis, and also recruited former Death Eaters into the group.

The Knights of Walpurgis have now begun a reign of darkness in eastern and central Europe, and they are slowly travelling to France and Great Britain, their current intentions unknown...

The plot

It is approximately nine weeks after the death of Voldemort. Things are chaotic in the Wizarding World. People live in fear of being accused by the Ministry of crimes they have not committed. Xenophobia reigns. The Knights of Walpurgis have also began their attacks on Europe and, led by an unknown heir, have just invaded France. It looks like soon they'll reach Britain and the Ministry is obviously in no state to rally defenses. In fact, the Ministry denies that the Knights of Walpurgis will even reach Britain...

To make things worse, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny and Luna were last since at Godric’s Hollow, where they have been missing for two weeks. Things are getting desperate and the Order have decided that they needed to formulate a team of wizards to locate Harry, Ron and Hermione, rescue them and try and uncover the mystery of the Knights of Walpurgis. The Order realised they needed teenagers or young adults for members as the number of loyalists and supporters of the Order was diminishing every second.

Filius Flitwick soon tried to find a team of teenage wizards and witches to rescue Harry, Ron and Hermione, and try to solve why and how the Knights reformed. The adult members were too busy and occupied with keeping the Knights of Walpurgis at bay and the rescue of Harry Potter was their only hope. The Dementors have taken over the area around Hogwarts and the students inside who have luckily returned to their school as it reopened, are now fighting for their lives. Professor Flitwitck and her staff, her students and the resistance are now fighting for their lives. Somebody needs to defeat the Dementors and rescue the students, the teachers and the last of the resistance.

The strangest thing is though, that the Knights of Walpurgis have quietly killed Lucius Malfoy in his prison cell, and have attempted to kidnap Draco Malfoy. The Order intervened and saved Draco, but Draco is now on the run for prison break. The Knights of Walpurgis seem interested in Malfoy in particular for some reason, and the Order of the Phoenix believe he may be the key to solving this puzzle.

So now the rescue team has a massive fight on their hands. First, they have to locate Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville and Luna and rescue them. Second, they have to help Draco Malfoy in finding who the heir of Grindelwald is, and try to shed light on the Knights of Walpurgis . And finally, they have to break many Order members such as Kingsley Shacklebolt and Minerva McGonagall out of the paranoid Ministry's prisons and rescue Hogwarts from the Dementors.

All of this is somehow connected to Grindelwald, the Deathly Hallows and the enigma known as Albus Dumbledore...

You will control one member of the new rescue team for the Order of the Phoenix. If you are from Hogwarts, you have been recruited BEFORE the start of the terms or obviously you will stuck in a castle surrounded by Dementors. All of the events of the seven books had happened; except the Epilogue which may or may not happen, depending on how this RPG goes. This new team are meant to be powerful in magic. The sign up sheet is below. Try to space it out so it is not one big block of text.

You

Name: (Duh)
Age: (Between 15-21)
Description: (AT LEAST FOUR LINES)
Personality: (AT LEAST FOUR LINES)
History: (AT LEAST FIVE LINES)
Wand: (This is where you describe your wand. You must include how long it is, what wood it consists of and it's core. Be creative here. The minimum length of a wand is seven inches and the maximum is thirteen)
School: (Preferably Hogwarts but you can only choose the Beauxbatons or the Drumstang if you wish. NO FAN-MADE SCHOOLS)
House: (This only applies if you are a Hogwarts student. DON’T choose Slytherin unless you have a GOOD History and I mean it.)
Other: (Duh again)

I will prefer if you are NOT a Dark Arts expert but if you are very good at RP-ing, I might consider it.

Basic rules:

1) No God-Modding or 'invincible' players.

2) I have the right to expel or refuse anyone who does not meet my standards.

3) You have a right to know why I am expelling/refusing you.

4) I expect you to at least skim each person’s post so you know what is happening. There is nothing more annoying than when someone defeats a certain wizard in their post, and the next person posts saying that their character is fighting the certain wizard. -_- So READ!

5) If you are going to swear excessively, post a warning at the top of your post please. I don’t mind swearing if it is appropriate for that situation, but no needless profanity please.

6) No extreme romance, i.e. No sex scenes. I don’t expect any, as obviously it will be kind of hard to find love in these Dark Times any way but if you are thinking of developing a relationship between two characters, kissing is the maximum you can do.

7) No bunnying, i.e. controlling another RPGer’s character. You can only control another person’s character with their expressed permission VIA PM.

8) Try to post at least once every two days. I don't want this to die as soon as it starts.

9) HAVE FUN!

The rules could be edited later.

I am cracking down on grammar, length and depth in this RPG. I will not, I repeat, not accept anyone who I feel cannot uphold to my grammar and RPG’ing standards. I will also expect an RPG sample from any applicants, to prove you are capable of posting to my standards.

Be warned: when the RPG starts, I will not hesitate to expel any members of the Team who don’t post long replies. No five line additions to the RPG, that’s not a post. Plus, I expect some level of maturity in your posts, and a basic usage of proper, and possibly advanced, English.

Too many criteria and expected standard of achievement? Well then, consider it an honour to be accepted by my picky self! >.<;;

Do NOT make up spells, just use the ones J.K. Rowling made already. Search the web for spells and if you REALLY genuinely want to use a certain made-up spell, PM me the incantation, the name and the description of what it does. I may or may not approve of it, it really depends it is realistic and not overpowered. You only control your character: I cannot stress that enough. I need at least four people in this RPG and I will allow nine people in this RPG, not including me. You can be a Beauxbatons or a Drumstang if you want

Also, you may make up your own character but before this RPG, starts some people must Sign-Up and RP as one of three canon characters: Astoria Greengrass (aged 17: non-Slytherin Hogwarts student), Rolf Scamander (aged 18-20: non-Hogwarts student) and Hannah Abbott (aged 18: Hufflepuff Hogwarts student).

If you choose to RP as one of these characters, stick to canon information but anything not revealed in canon (such as personality and description), you can make-up. There is hardly any information on Rolf or Astoria anyway so taking them is almost like making a whole new character out of scratch. I'll be RP-ing as Draco Malfoy so yeah. My Sign-Up will be up in a few days.

1) Draco Malfoy: TAKEN (Angelique)
2) Astoria Greengrass: OPEN
3) Rolf Scamander: OPEN
4) Hannah Abbott: OPEN
5) Any Non-Canon Character: OPEN
6) Any Non-Canon Character: OPEN
7) Any Non-Canon Character: OPEN
8) Any Non-Canon Character: OPEN

Another Note: I've made a change. If a place is reserved by a player, you are quite free to post a sign-up if you wish to challenge them for that position. I will simply decide who is the better out of the two who want the place, though the first person will get some priority, nothing major though.

So:

Red = Free for sign up's.
Blue = Reserved by a potential player, but still reasonably open for challenges.
Italicized and in Bold = Required to be taken

This is to give everyone a fair chance at signing up.

Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.

I’ll post my Sign-Up later as I’ve got Homework to finish right now.

So there we go. Post away!

Literate

black cat, black cat
... I have just been spoiled for the Deathly Hallows. XD

In any case, this sounds interesting, and a magic RPG might get me back into the swing of Serebii. I doubt you might know me, as great RPGer or not... but, may I reserve a non-canon character spot? I promise that I'd post up an at least mediocre sign-up and post at least once every couple of days. It's the summer. I have time. :3

I promise that I'd have my sign-up in by Friday, at the latest. =D

Knight of RPGs
Heres a problem for you. On the Dark Arts thing anyone in the fourth year at the same time as Harry will already know the Unforgivable Curses, known seperately as the Imperius curse, Crutiatus curse and Avada Kedavra or Killing curse. Remember, the imposter Moody showed them those three curses. And yes, I know about the need to want to cause pain, kill etc.

Heres my sign-up.
Name: Zachary Andrews.
Age: 17
Description: Zachary wears black robes with the Hogwarts crest emblazoned on them whenever he is in a wizarding area such as Diagon alley or Platform 9 and 3 quarters. When he needs to wear Muggle clothes he dresses in a pair of denim jeans and a white t-shirt. He also tends to wear sunglasses. His hair is blonde and he has brown eyes. He always wears a pair of black trainers unless he needs to wear some other kind of shoe for some reason.
Personality: Zachary is generally a loner and only trusts people he knows very well. Before Voldemort took over he was friendly and trusting, but a year of being on the run from Death Eaters and gangs working for Voldemort made him tough and self-sufficent.
He also fanaticaly hates Death Eaters and just about everyone else who worked for Voldemort. For this reason he especially loathes Draco Malfoy and has sworn to kill him if he finds him.
History: Zachary was born in a small suburb of Leeds and grew up with his two brothers. His mother wasa Muggle and his dad was a wizard, although not a very talented wizard. When Zachary was selected to go to Hoqwarts he was thrilled and spent his first six years there happy. When Harry was persecuted by the Ministry for saying that Voldemort was back Zachary secretly believed him and was going to join the secret Defence Against The Dark Arts group, Dumbledores Army. However when he saw a notice from the High Inquisitor Dolores Umbridge saying that all clubs, groups etc were banned he thought that the group was disbanded. a few days after his seventeenth birthday Zachary joined the Order Of The Phoenix and fought as much as he could against Voldemort. However he was forced to flee for his life when he was left without help on a mission in London with Death Eaters closing in. He was on the run until he met several other Order members who told him that Voldemort was going to Hogwarts and that Harry was there. Zachary Apparated to Hogsmeade (thoroughly annoying several Death Eaters who were sick of their Caterwauling charm constantly going off) and went through the secret passage into Hogwarts from the Hogs Head pub. During the battle he was hit by a Stunning spell and knocked uncouncious. Several other Order members risked their lives to save him and Zachary wanted to thank them, but they were killed by Death Eaters during the fight. After Voldemort was gone Zachary joined the Ministry of Magic after applying to be an Auror, but there was so much chaos that his application was held until the search began. Zachary had enough time to get some training and learn enough spells to keep him alive before setting out to find the missing people.

transcending love~
Literate: Well, I really thought by now everyone would have gotten the general gist of the Deathly Hallows so that's why I didn't put a spoiler in. XP Anyway, Reserved.

storymasterb: Ah, I sense many problems with your Sign-Up, young one. Firstly, what I meant in terms of the Dark Arts, I mean expert. If you read GoF properly, you would know Moody didn't really teach the Unforgivables, just showed them what they are and what they do.

The Unforgivables are the height of the Dark Arts, and are extremely hard to master, as soon by Harry's incompetence in the Cruciatus Curse initially (OotP). The Dark Arts are not only forbidden, but extremely hard to master and learn. Fake!Moody didn't teach the Dark Arts - he wasn't allowed to - but he did show what they did. But to properly learn the Dark Arts, you have to attend the Durmstang or take an Auror training course, which give you a brief sum-down.

So that's why I'm apprehensive in letting in Dark Arts experts - they're basically fully fledged Death Eaters or someone who is either evil enough or ambitious enough to try and learn it. It's not on Hogwarts' syllabus, and all the books on the subject are either confiscated in the Headmaster's Office or in the Restricted Section. XP

Anyway, your Sign-Up needs major work - I don't have time to list all it's faults but better grammar and a more plausible History might be better (why would a school-aged half-blood suddenly leave his education incomplete and join the Order? You either need to elaborate and explain or just try to be more plausible.)

Also, space things out. I said in my beginning post I'd like to see the SUs spaced out properly. Right now, no offense, but your Sign-Up is an eyesore and a horrendously clumped excuse. Please - people would be more inclined to read and agree if it looks pretty on page. XP

So yeah - no hard feelings. Rejected.
