Example: Once in Sapphire I decided I didn't need Ultra Balls and all those
good pokeballs so I decided to just use standard pokeballs. This one guy (not in the game) told me how to get to Kyogre. I followed his directions and I
end up facing Kyogre. I got to throw a pokeball when.. I REALISED I ONLY
HAVE 5 POKEBALLS!!!! I used them all and then I end up starting over the game.
(TRUE STORY)

I forgot to bring Max Elixirs, Apples, Reviver Seeds, and an Escape Orb to a difficult/long dungeon in Mystery Dungeon Blue. It was either Buried Relic or Wish Cave, I can't remember which.

I encountered a shiny Magikarp in Sootopolis City, and I only had my master ball with me. So I had to use it. :(

I was in gold version, and i found a shiny graveler and i had no frieking pokeballs. made me so sad to run away from it

Perhaps in FireRed when a Shiny Wobbuffet in Cerulean Cave countered my Nidoking's Earthquake, destroying it. I was left with no pokemon above Lv45, facing a Shiny Lv55 Wobbuffet (I had stupidly forgot Alakazam in the PC).

I managed to snag it with a Great Ball next turn, wisely not attacking it with my Lv45 Jumpluff.

Oh you know at the beggining of Ruby Sapphire and Emerald where you can't get pokeballs because you have to go battle May. I was heading up there and the first wild Pokemon I see in the game (besides the Poochyena attacking the proffeser.) was a shiny Wurmple! ARRG!

My Groudon vs. my friend's Rattata. I use Earthquake and hit first, his Rattata survives with a Focus Band and hits me with Endeavor.

Next turn, he uses Quick Attack and KOs my Groudon.

Oh and once (after I started over that Sapphire) after I beat the E4
I had no idea about Latias so I find it in the Dessert. I try catching it with
an Ultra Ball and it fled so.. my reply was.. "Can't that only happen in the Safari zone?" I wasn't mad because I thought if it was here I could find more
so I make the mistake of spending a load of time looking for it in the Dessert!

One experiance that has been burned in my mind for not being prepared....

I was in the car playing silver, when I ran into a Zubat in Mt.Moon...it was shiny....all my pokes could kill it in one hit....non of my balls caught it...

I really wished I brough some annoyers or weak pokemon through there. Its the only shiny I've seen since.....

I used my friends cheat to get Deoxys at the very beginning of the game,
I didn't have no frikin Pokemon,but i had pokeballs.

I'm not sure how that's unprepared. If you battle a PKMN without having
any PKMN you will get Missing No.

In Yellow everyone faces this.
You're starter is a Pikachu. Electric Type.
Brock's Pokemon are Rock.
Usually Brock would win unless you train your Pikachu in the wild for a long time.

I buyed my emerald recenly, and i dont know all of the plot.

I went through magma hideout, reached the end with one undamaged pokemon, one half-damaged pokemon, and the rest of my 6 pokemon was knocked out.

Then i gotten challenged by the magma leader.

well, i won, but i wasted a lot of items.
