yes, I want him to evolve ina gyarados. But still what should I train him (EV wise) to be super cool. Also, now that I mention it, when I train a Larvitar, (Ev wise) the effort points he gained will stay when he evolves into pupitar and tyranitar?

got the ev training. now can anyone answer me the question about Ev points? Do they stay from pre evos to evos? And also, the HP type is determined ever since you catch the pokemon right? The type can't change...can it?

Yeh, your HP type will always be the same and EVs stay with the pogeymon even if you evolve it.
