This is something that has bugged me for a while, sence FFVII AC and KH came out, all the people saying "FFVII IS BEST THING EVERU" and from their lack of knowledge of the characters, I realy doubt they have ever played it, which as I believe BattleFranky would say "You cannot be a fan of something if you have never played/watched it" prove me wrong in saying you have all only ever played FFX and KH.

Played it, hated it. It was the first (and only) FF I played and it stunk. The graphics were pretty poor, I could nearly predict the plot (Aerith's death was down to the letter) and I thought it was dumb that Sephiroth wanted to bring the meteor down on his skull. Hey douche, if you bring it down on your head, you don't become a god, YOU DIE.

I'm the same, I have yet to play XII though because it has yet to become PAL and I have only played NES III same reasons. I am honestly supprised you place IV and V so low, I and II are understandable due to I dating badly and II is easily a realistic system, but very flawed, to easy to overlevel in it.

I'm still working on finishing II at the moment on PSone, I got confused and didn't get around to it till recently, III I just realy find that the only way to play NES in english feels icky, I got upto the part where you Mini then gave up and started waiting for DS.

my preferances are as followed.

VI=IV>VIII>X>VII>V>IX>I>II>III(NES)

Yeah, I never thought much of IX,
the story was too much like I and I realy hated the Necron has nothing to do with anything, atleast Ultimecia was behind the whole of FFVIII.
Just incase someone has not played IX and VIII.

i haven't really played it...but i've seen my sister play it
the graphics were BAD...my eyes started hurting after 10 minutes
but its a rather good game
if i were to rank it...i'd give 8/10 just because of graphics...but what do you expect...PS game made like...10 years ago...

I'm not a huge fan of FFVII but it's alright. And I've finished it, including defeating all the WEAPONs.

I've played (or at least semblance of playing) almost every FF apart from XI, and the older ones, namely FF2j and FF3j.

My preference is really all over the place, but here it is.

FFVI = FFT > FFXII > FFV > FFIV > FFIX > FFXIII > FFVII > FFI (NES) [> FFTA]

My reasons for disliking FFVII? Well, FFVII was an awesome game for its time, but face it, it's way out of its league now. It was revolutionary for defining the idea of JRPG in that time, but right now, there are other games that trump it. 3x times over. Not to mention that I found the premise of the game inanely tedious for some strange reason, and the fact that some aspects of it are just plain annoying. However, I did like the gameplay system and it was indeed quite revolutionary game during the year 1997.

Despite me firstly watching AC,I have finished the main story and done most of the sidequests.(and vii still remains first on my list)

I've played practically all the Final Fantasies, apart from XI, and I'm waiting for the European releases of V Advance (I have already played VI - the PSone remake) and III (DS) and XII.
I have also played FF:TA, CC and Kingdom Hearts, COM but not finished KHII.

VII was the fourth FF game I played, after X, VI, X-2 in that order, so I'm speaking as a newer fan playing an older title rather than someone who played it for the first time when new.

You can complain about the graphics, but then again it was the first FF on the Playstaion.

Final Fantasy X will ALWAYS be 1st on my list, not because I think it is superior, in fact the older ones are IMO, but it was the first one I played, so it gets that 'special' status.

VII is still high on my list, as is VI. I might be inclined to put VI above VII however.

I have beat Emeral Weapon with a level 7 Tifa. It is VERY safe to say, that I have done everything you can on that game.

VII>VI>XII>IX>>X>>I>IV>III>V>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>II

I have VII and VI Virtually equal, and XII and IX virtually Equal. I thought IX was significantly better than X, and IV and V are near the bottom. II is just abysmal.

Played it, loved it, replayed it many a time. Can now do the main game in about 20 hours, sometimes less, sometimes more.

I liked the movie, but did feel some bits weren't needed, whereas others were cool, such as Rufus still being alive.

For the rest of the series, I've played I - X-2, and in order of wuv (I am discounting the first two as I can never really get into them, though have played and completed just 'cause):

X, V,VI, X-2, IX, VII, KH Series (if it counts), VIII, IV, Tactics Advance, III

A lot of you keep dissing the graphics. I am a fortunate soul who played the game right when it came out, and back then, those were really good graphics. Sure if you play it now the graphics are awful, but if you compare them to what was out back when it was first released, they're very good. So it's a little unfair to discredit the game for bad graphics when you're not judging them relatively. I personally love the game, and it's definitely one of my favorites (next to XII and VIII).

I've played through it, it's an excellent game but I just hate how people overrate it because it was the first 3D FF or the first blockbuster PS1 game. I liked FF8 more because I could relate to both Squall and Laguna, I didn't have to think about math when using magic because it didn't utilize the MP system and most of all Triple Triad is the greatest minigame of all time ever. EVER! I had to collect those cards. This is a Pokémon forum so I'm sure most of you know about collecting cards, at least at one point in your life

Of course I played. So many times I count..Not to mention it was the first PS1 game I played too. So, there's my right to say it's great.

The story's not all that great. It's FFVI's plot with a handful of edits (someone around here posted an image about that, I think I bookmarked it somewhere
here)
I'm playing it right now. The music for the time isn't that great, it has the worst Prelude, and to me, Music is a huge part of RPGs. There have only been one or two tracks I like on the sound track (The Highwind Theam and Cosmo Canyon come to mind). I don't much care for the chareter designs, but I alway's preferd Amano's artstyle when it comes to designs.
It's not a BAD RPG by any strech of the term. But, it's one of my least favoret FFs.
