Have you ever 'felt' something from your pokemon?

Black Murder Heavangelon

Ow! Ow! Harder! Ow!
You know, like, have you ever had the feeling you're shadow pokemon were just calling out to you? It's a weird thing and can end up having you raising them to be the strongest.

I ended up raising my Piloswine to be strong enough to beat Evice. And I don't like ground OR ice types that much.

ever felt something like that? It would plesase me if I know I'm not the only sane one here.

GOTCHA!
I haven't... they're freaking computer graphics! Anyone who thinks like that must have no life.... :\

I haven't aswell

I know they aren't real, but having kept them so long in the team, trained them so hard and remembering all the battles fought together makes them precious. Even thought they are graphics and merely computer codes, memories of the times spent working at training them are still there because we are humans after all - i dont treat anything as an object to be used and thrown away!

I appreciate whatever it is even if its an inanimate object and therefore i appreciate Pokemon.

You're not alone! I "feel" respect and bond to the pokemon who have helped me win the game too!

I just laugh at them when things happen XD But i am rather sadistic when it comes down to it. Hmm, i never feel anything for the actual Pokemon, the human characters on the other hand, hmmm... ;D

Ohhkey. Ever heard of "putting a bit of soul in your hobbies"? That's how it's possible.

Yes. I've felt that. Since my first Pokémon game. You grow attached to those creatures you pass time with. Training and battling together. Some might think it's stupid, but I beg to differ. The actual joy of Pokémon stays in that fact alone. Developing feelings for your Pokémon. If you can't because you don't have the lowest ounce of imagination, or because you're unable to put a bit of soul in it, how shameful. You're wasting your time. Go play other games. There are better games. Lots of them. And if you just like the "competitive" aspect, go play "Maths" or "Calculus". It's exactly the same thing...

It's also one of the biggest reasons I like Colosseum/XD so much. You can truly feel sorry for those Pokémon, and you'll want to help them. You grow very attached to all Pokémon you use there. Because you actually pass time with them. Something that's impossible in the handhelds for the most part.

Thank you *Orion*.

I agree with *Orion*.

Putting soul into the games sometimes makes it more fun. If you don't do that, why do you even play Pokemon at all. It's hardly competitive as the game can easily be beaten and all that.

So yeah, I DO get attached to Pokemon I've trained and I feel it's my responsibility to breed them and produce their quality offspring. Of course, not neglecting the seniors that I used to go through the game, but I rebreed them and train a more competitive bunch with them, with proper IVs and EVs and natures and whatnot.

Feeling something from your pokemon is NOT stupid. If you don't feel it, you're probably cold enough to murder your best friend.

Nicely put.

Now that was awesome, a bit too much but awesome.

For some reason, I feel as if my Magmar loves to face Water-typed pokemon.
"Haha! Magmar is your last pokemon!"
"Well, Suicune is yours!"
"Your point is..."
"THUNDERPUNCH, BIZATCH!!!"

I don't know ...they're computer generated bits of data, but I'd be so P-O'd if I lost a save with something I'd put time and Pokedollars into training and tricking out, yo yeah, I guess there's some attatchment there, in a way. I don't think it would be healthy to carry it far enough to be the equivalent of, say, emotional affection for a real pet or a person you know well or something. There's a difference between attatchment and real affection, and yes, eventually our cartridge batteries will die. When that starts happening, it's these people who will flood the world's counseling services and psychiatric care facilities with complaints of "Post-pokemon trauma," and thats something no one mentally healthy should need to deal with, though it would be pretty funny.

I never 'felt' anything from my pokemon in Colosseum and XD, until I defeated certain strongest trainers that made my pokemon become the precious thing in my heart, knowing that they're the strongest team in the game.

Oh. My. God.

Liking the pokémon you raised does not make you a freak. I'm serious. Not being able to talk proper English and blaming your teacher. Now THAT makes you a freak, Freak.
