I did... I got the idea after playing yugiohs "capsule monsters" I call it "Pokechess" (I know, cheesy name)
I took my old pokemon figures and made a board game out of them, designing feilds and stuff that were different so they could have various effects on the pokemon's attributes...
You'd have 7 pokemon on your board (1 would act as your king, and you are only allowed 1 legendary in your team) and the game does not end until either all your opponents pokemon are beaten or you KO their king. Each pokemon figure has it's own powers and speical abilities...
an example of an ability would be Mewtwo's psychic throw. When it attacks a pokemon, that pokemon takes alot of damage and has to be moved all the way back to where it started. Golem can move in straight lines, and if it jumps more than one pokemon in a row, those pokemon suffer 30 damage points to their HP.
Abra can move anywhere it wants on the feild, however, it's ATK is very low and you are better off evolving it...
and yes, you can evolve pokemon in this game, every time a pokemon (let's say charmander in this case) beats a pokemon, they are allowed to evolve (basiccly Charmanders piece is replaced with charmeleon) and the pokemon is allowed to evolve until it reaches it's final stage.
You can start off the game with an already evolved pokemon if you want, however, their stats are lowered by 80% (their HP and ATK) also, the pokemon choose to be your king will have an HP of 150, but their attack is lowered to just 10 points per hit and their movement becomes super limited (1 space in any direction) however, they still keep their speical abilities.
one last thing, certain pokemon can only be moved certain ways and have a limit of sqaures they can move (some can only move in straight lines with a maximum of 4 squares, some can only move daiagnoly [can't spell] with a maximum of 3 squares, etc)
oh, plus you move 2 pokemon per turn (so that way you can perform combos!)
so what do you think? and have any of you ever made a game as well?
