All about Nuzlocke.

Have you taken the Nuzlocke Challenge? Are you going to Nuzlocke in Black and White? Discuss.

I've made a few half-hearted attempts and never got very far with it. However I'm determined to give a propper go at it eventually.

After all the Pokemon that I have played I really should have. I just like playing for fun as stuff like this would probably just stress me out.

I have suggested it to dozens of people though. ;)

I have done over 20 runs and haven't won a single one. It's not for the faint hearted. I've grown to respect the games a lot more though.

Not sure if I want to do a BW run. I mean in all my previous attempts I had already played the game and knew what I was up against. This will be a whole new experience where I go in with no real knowledge of what's to come. It is that very reason that I want to Nuzlocke my first run too. lol

I might try the whole "capture the first pokemon you see" thing to add more variety to the ones I use. but not allowing your pokemon to faint? I could not afford to loose my starter!

That sounds impossibly hard. There is no way I would try it.

I just don't want to try it :/ I wouldn't be able to do it and I'd just get extremely frustrated (yay for lack of patience!) and end up quitting the challenge halfway through. I might try it one day though.

From what I've seen, your starter is the most likely to survive the challenge as people are usually more over protective of them than other Pokemon.

I'm currently at the Aqua Base in my emerald run which seems to be going remarkably well (I've only lost three Pokemon so far) but now I'm facing exploding Pokemon and seeing how my starter (whom I consider to be way over levelled) can barely survive an explosion at full health, I'm thinking that will soon change.

why instead of releasing it you just set it in a box like a Cemetery, that way you will be unable to use the pokémon from this box, but you won't lose them

I had to restart four times to beat Brawley in Emerald. It was maddening. lol

That takes away from the whole point of the challenge.

No it does not.

You can still not use those Pokémon, but you won't have to capture them all over again when you finish the challenge and wants to start training them again. I have even seen Nuzlocke challenges with boxing your Pokémon permanently through out the challenge as an alternative rule.

The Nuzlocke challenge is stupid. If the pokemon games were meant to be played that way, then there'd be an option for it. Heck, one could argue that Nuzlocke is the antithesis to the entire philosophy of Pokemon as described over the 5 generations.

Otherwise why don't B/W players do an 'N' Challenge (Chall'Nge?) where they only use pokemon from the current route to battle then release them afterward?

I've never done it, but it sounds interesting. Ridiculously hard, but interesting. I may consider trying a run one day, but probably not anytime soon.

I might do it soon, for DPPt. Once I've traded most of my pokemon over from Pearl and I restart it, I may try it then.
