ok I started this thread to see if I was the only one here to do certain things.
If you have anything you want to ask others if they've completed ask it here.

I wanted to know if anyone else has completed event match 51 "The showdown" on super smash bros melee.

ps-I accidentaly posted this thread in nintendo discussion,so thanks to my idiot-like brain you now have to keep the questions realated to nintendo.

YEah I've done that, although, ironically, I used the "worse" character, Jigglepuff (I don't think he's bad, I use him often it's just people's opinion of him) which is kind of amusing.

Yep, and I used Jigglypuff as well!

I was trying for ages with DK and getting nowhere, so I just tried Jigglypuff for a laugh and succeeded after a couple of gos.

I did use Jigglypuff. It takes a while to get your timing right to knock Giga Bowser out.

Yep. I have. I have also beaten it with my #1 character, Yoshi.

man most you guys beat it woth jigglypuff!
man i beat it with the no.1 Fox Mccloud!

I reckon it is easier to beat giga bowser first so you can see who your hitting,I reckon out of that match ganondorf is the hardest character.
man it was so hard to complete I amlost thought I was the only one in the world to do it.
It doesnt have to stay to this one topic though!if u were wondering if someone else accomplished something feel free to ask.eg:someone told me about missions in wario ware touched.

At first I did it with Jigglypuff, but nowadays I can beat it using Link.

Event 51 is a big challenge... but nowhere as hard as the REAL Giga Bowser fight.

Event 51's Giga Bowser is actually Bowser with Giga Bowser's special moves. I fought him using Bowser... and fount out that apart from a greater reach and from his access to Giga Bowser's insanely powerful special moves, the event 51 Giga Bowser does as much damage and can take as much damage as regular Bowser (and I'm not talking about Giant Bowser or Dark Bowser here; just the regular, plain playable Bowser).

Furthermore, Giga Bowser in Event 51 isn't nearly as fast and aggressive as his Adventure Mode's counterpart. He moves around slowly, abusing the Acid Breath more than anything else and often suiciding using the Earthquake Bomb (something Giga Bowser in Adventure Mode does not).

In short, Giga Bowser in Event 51 is little more than a moving shield for Ganondorf and Mewtwo and is, by himself, the weakest link.

So... if Giga Bowser in Event 51 is mostly lame... then why is the event so hard?

Answer: Mewtwo and Ganondorf.

People overlook them but they are the real, actual threat in the challenge. Mewtwo is a scaringly effective fighter that pelts the player with Shadow Balls from a distance and smack you with combos in close... and should you try to use his weakness (aerial moves), Ganondorf will Shadow Dive you to oblivion.

Giga Bowser comes off as a serious threat because that your attacks does not hit Mewtwo and Ganondorf as long as he lives, the big bad Giga Bowser serving as a sponge while the two other villains get free shots at you.

This why Jigglypuff comes in handy. Her Rest attack is one of the game's strongest moves and since Giga Bowser is so huge and does not block and evade attacks, unlike his Adventure Mode counterpart, you can easily knock him off the platform. Once this is done, you still have to defeat two rock-hard CPU opponents... but as least, you can now actually strike them.

In short, Event 51 is quite hard despite the event's version of Giga Bowser being a big joke, in truth...

I beaten that event with Jigglypuff (DUH!), Bowser, Roy, Pichu, Mewtwo, and Samus. The hardest was with Samus ; her Charged Shot is equally strong compared to Mewtwo's Shadow Ball but leave her vulnerable while charging and most of all, Mewtwo has Disable (VERY HANDY to keep that pesky Ganondorf from Shadow Diving/Wizard Footing you to oblivion).

Jigglypuff and Roy were uber easy (Roy's Flare Blade is a great Giga Bowser finisher and I'm skilled enough with him to defeat the Mewtwo/Ganondorf duo).

Yes, I did beat it, and I did it with Yoshi, which suprised me since I wasn't very good with him.

Like a few people I have beaten it with Jigglypuff. I thought the one before it, where you fight the Master Hand adn Crazy Hand was harder, but I beat that with DK after a little practice.

Puffs

...NINE-THOUSAND!!!!
I beat them easily with my best character... Jigglypuff.

After you use Rest to get rid of Giga Bowser, dodging attacks and Rollout make the whole thing real simple.

The hard part was destroying Mewtwo and Gandorf. Giga Bowser was a joke. =P But pretty cool looking I will add. I tried to go in there with Mario one time to have the much formal "The hero of all Nintendo takes on the big bad villians in a final battle" look to it, yet it didn't work out. =3 So Jigglypuff had to take them out. X3

I tend to use Marth and Roy for Event 51, Crazy Hand and Giga Bowser. I'm really good with their counter move, to the point where neither hand can damage me, even if they hit me every time (exception of the flicking and projectile atacks of course).

I used Jigglypuff once agaist Giga Bowser (Adventure Mode), but I beat both first with Mewtwo. Trust me, it's just the computers that are bad ith him using aerial attacks, his forward one exceptionally powerful. I usually just use Jigglypuff in VS Mode when playing one of my friends who haven't played much before. Really, really, really annoying. None of them know what Rest does. Or Rollout, at least before I attack.

Has anyone beaten all the Staff Ghosts on F-Zero GX, I've beaten most, but not all. Unfortuntly, those tracks are the ones I'm not too good at. I've still not lost a single multiplayer match yet.

How many people here can get 1000 hits on Orca in Wind Waker? Or beat Ganondorf without taking any damage? I've done both. Has anyone bothered to complete the Nintendo Gallery as well? I didn't know you could buy Ganondorf's Pictogragh, so I ended up wasting about ten minutes just getting a single good one. I haven't finished the gallery, but I'm getting closer.

That's all I can think of now.

Yup, I completed it with Kirby.

Hello...
Jigglypuff seems to be the easiest character to use in order to defeat Event 51, all you require is timing it's Rest attack so it can do a Critical Hit and blow them off the battlefield.
