Josh stood up at the sound of the explision. Something wasn't right, and he needed to find out what. He walked over to a stack of boxes and hopped up on to them. He looked around to make sure no one was looking and hopped on top of the item shop. He hopped a couple of buildings onto the top of the hotel and dropped his trench coat. His wings flexed, the rain hitting them. Josh could see black smoke coming from the third district.

"Well, I better go see what is going on." He jumped up, and his wings started to flap. He flew off to the third district and landed to see a house on fire, and a person staring at a large shadow.

This oughta be intresting... Josh thought to himself.

"What the hell was that!?" Tom yelled, looking around quickly. He saw something flying towards the third district.

'That looks one of those heartless things' he thought. 'I'm gonna go check it out. And rather quickly'. He opened his wallet and left the money for the pasta on the table, then sprinted towards the third district.

He arrived in the third district. It was well lit, with many colourful lights around. It seemed to be more industrial than residential. Panting, Tom bent down, supporting himself by putting his hands on his knees. "That was one hell of a run"

Surveying the area, he found the source of the explosion. A house had gone and blown up. But what was more intereesting was the fact that someone was there. He was an odd looking guy - kinda speckly. But he didn't look very happy.

"I wouldn't either if THAT was in front of me" He said....that is, after gasping at the size of the shadow the chap was confronted with. "Methinks I'll be staying right here. I'm not gonna stick my neck out for some Snowy TV looking guy" He added.

Hmm... That guy wasn't too friendly... Tetsu thought. "Hey, you." he pointed to Huey. "Could I get five Potions and a Hi-Potion, please?"

"Comin' right up!" he said, and with that all the ducks scrambled for the requested items. "That'll be 200 munny!" Tetsu brandished a pouch and dumped a mass of yellow and blue pieces on the table.

"Thanks." he responded, taking his goods. Then, a muffled explosion shook the shop. Great. Something else. Tetsu thought. He burst out of the shop, leaving the three ducks shaken and behind. Smoke was rising from the Third District. "Hmm..." Tetsu said under his breath. "That looks like it might be fun..." He walked towards the Gizmo shop, pretending to enter, but instead, jumping up so fast it looked like he dissapeared. He jumped on top of the roof, then of an old house. He ran for the wall seperating the First and Third Districs, and ran straight up it. He arrived at the peak, surveying the situation. Two people were standing in front of a burning house. A shadow lingered in the fire. "Well, well." he said to himself. "I was right, this will be fun."

Thene perked up as an explosive blast sounded from the Third District. That's whewre that freaky shadow guy went! I bet he has something to do with this. He turned to Litera. "It appears that that man is either the cause of or in some serious trouble. I am going to assist. Are you coming?"

Without waiting for an asnwer, he raced towards the Third District, his staff caught tightly in his hands. As he passed people going around the city, he noticed that severel of them had taken cover since the noise, as if they could guess what it was. The look of of terror on one boy's face streangthened his resolve.

I'm going to take this fiend out, so that these people will be safe, he thought as he rounded the corner to the Third district. Coming around, he stopped suddenly. "Ur, lnyb." (Oh, crap)

Leif stopped to sheath his swords, and peer around. Raising his arms, his shadowy cloak reappeared, and he threw it around his body. No one had run into his path. Assuming that the area was deserted he continued. He sumbled on a rock, and landed on one knee. As he got up his weaker side surfaced. Looking down at his hands, they were trembling.

"W-where am I?" Leif continued to ask this question to himself. He was terrified of where he was. No one knew him. People could hate him just because he's a Heartless. Leif, dazed, and full of fear walked on to find someone who could answer his question. Another reason for him to fear was his other side. The dark Leif was a psycho, and he couldn't control what he did. What if he ended up getting killed?

"Don't worry, you'll die with me."A voice came from his head

"W-what? Who's there?"Leif seemed confused.

"It's me, your favorite person ever! You!" It suddenly hit him, his evil side was talking too.

"Go away! I don't want you here!" He sat down and covered his ears.

"Dude, you sure are messed up if you have to talk to yourself."
He chuckled. "That means I'm messed too."

"K-keep talking, I'm just going to block you out." He got up shaking, and continued to walk.

"Looks like someone isn't that scared anymore. I'll just have to keep talking."

After a couple of minutes of searching, an explosion came from an area near him. Surprised by the explosion, he collapsed. As he got up, he returned to his normal, evil self.

"Get back in there ya big wuss." Leif somewhat giggled. " I gotta find a way to keep you gone." He stretched a few times. "Well, it's good to be back." He quickly remembered the explosion. "Ah yes, now for some excitement!" Hurling his cloak into the air, and unsheathing his swords, Leif dashed toward the explosion.

Leaping up to a roof, he saw a large shadow in what looked to be the remnants of a flaming building, and a small group of people. He couldn't contain his excitement. This was one of Leif's only battles for a long time. He then started to run towards the egde of the roof, only to trip on the edge. In mid-air he balanced out, and landed on his feet.

"Time for some fun!"Leif then slid his swords against the ground creating waves of sparks.

When the sound went off, Litera fell on one knee, clutching her ears. "D*mn loud noise." She muttered in near silence. A lion's senses were far to keen for something that loud. Shaking out her head, the half-heart stood up and stared at Thene as he spoke.

"I am coming, human. Of course, my method of travel is more convient..." She said the first bit loudly but died down quickly as she spoke the last. With that she faded into the shadows behind her and went straight towards the source of the booming sound.

In seconds Litera had arrived at the site of the explosion and materialized out of the shadows around the buildings. Her eyes remained closed for the moment but as soon as she opened them her pupils shrunk in shook. "The crap!?" She exclaimed as she felt the darkness call her again.

But this time this half-hearted creature would be resolute and fight against this abomination of Darkness... whatever sort of thing it was.

(OOC: I'm sorry for being late, I though this RP had died, but I'm glad thats not true. ^_^; Its also been crazy at school, so meh... here's my post!)

Beads of sweat splotched the young demon’s forehead as she rummaged through her pack. Let’s see, weapons, check; food, check; sweets, check; healing balm, check; cans of cola, check; Mr. Gency’s Guide to the Human World, check; “other” essentials... her head shot up momentarily to make sure nobody saw, then with a blush, she returned to the bag, check. Yes, everything seemed in order. The only thing left to do was to venture through the dimensional gate, that’s all there was left, just one last thing, one final...

She sighed to try to get the anxiety out, but it did little good. She had never thought of doing anything like this. What would her lord think? He would hate her to be sure... visions of the punishments done to lazy prinnies filled her mind: cleaning dragon toe jam, brushing off the mildew from the castle’s catacombs, and, worst of all, scrubbing the toilets. She’d rather swing from the gallows then that...

But, the prince had not been himself, and this was the only choice. Wasn’t it? Yes, it was. His influence has already brought most of the Netherworld to its knees, leaving just a few powerful warlords left to conquer. But, she could tell from the way they fought day after day to take each square of land, each tavern shop, and each piece of candy from babies. Something changed within her prince, and she did no like it. He was not her prince anymore, he was becoming... heartless.

Her will renewed, she stepped solemnly toward the dimensional portal, swirling with purple darkness. With just one final glance, she saw what had become her home, and with two last steps the entire vision disappeared in a whirlwind of shadow.

- - -

When the whirlwind of shadow abated, her eyes attacked by a rush of light. This, of course, was normal, and having gone through the portal of darkness many times before, her eyes quickly adjusted. A cityscape, it appeared, though much more geometrically focused then the cities of The Netherworld. The pure straight lines with the occasional half-circle seemed stuffy for the ninja demon, but she didn’t feel that the architecture would be good indications of what the people would be capable of. If only there was a fight going on that would show her what people of this land was truly capable of.

A smell of ash in the air wafted through her nostril, and to her demon nose smelled of sweet perfume among the dead-quality of the air. Curious of its presence, and sensing nothing nearby of note, she walked to the edge of the building. Gazing over the building’s edge, she saw a smoldering fire with a huge black creature rising from it. The creature seemed to attract other creatures, much like herself, to gather around it. Excitement welled within her heart, perhaps these people were the ones she was looking for, what luck! But, if not, she figured, then perhaps the big shadow thing could work too...

Josh stood there, ontop of the building. His wings were pressed against his back to save space. Countless people were coming to see what ccaused the explosion, and two had even passed really close. The creature in the fire was growing bigger and bigger but no one else seemed to notice. The smoke really irratated Josh's nose, so he covered his nose with his shirt.

"Well, I think it's about time this party got started." He said. "BLIZZARAD!" He yelled, as a blue set of icicles flew tworads the creature, only to melt as they got closer to the flames.

Great, so I just gave off my postion, and the attack didn't do anything. He thought to himself. So, what to do now? Just then some people came running out of a house a couple houses down from the one that had exploded, and it exploded revealing another one of the creatures.

"Well, I guess I opened my mouth to soon." He said as the wind blew the rain said way and shifted his hair. He hopped off of the building behind the crowd and slid around to the side for a better postion.

"Lets do this." He whispered to him self as his weapons appeared in a flash of light and darkness.

Tom shook his head.

"My god!" He said. "What was that guy thinking? That...thing knows where he is now...". Suddenly, a group of people ran past him, screaming.

BOOM!

A house down the road exploded, sending timber flying. One piece came dangerously close to his head. Another creature, nearly identical, revealed itself. Tom pulled his pistol out of its holster and cocked it. 'Oh joy' he thought. 'Look at the weapons everone else has. Compared to theirs, mine's a pea shooter. It's not gonna do much to that....' he looked up at the giant creature, then back down to his pistol. Some heavier artillery was needed if he didn't want to be squashed like a bug.

OoC: So, when do we acctually get a description of the creatures? And what about a discussion in the cafe?

BiC: Josh looked to his right as a guy pulled his gun out and mentioned something about needing a bigger one. Since he didn't know much about guns, he didn't know how much damage that woud cause, but it probably wouldn't be a lot.

Wouldn't he be able to add some elmental ability to those bullets? Or does he just suck that much? Josh thought to him self. He wasn't really planning on letting people catch him out here, but if he got seen, he could always head beck to the hotel, grab his trench coat and get out of here.

Some shadow heartless circled the group of people staring at the fire, along with some of the civilians. Josh was completly isolated from everyone else.

"I hope these people can fight." He said, as he moved closer to the civilians, wanting to save them. He chucked his keyblade at the heatless, and it stuck one of the shadows, bounicing off of it, and landing right next to Josh, making a large clanking sound. The shadow vanished in a cloud of black mist, while a pink heart floated into the sky to disapear.

OOC: Agreed, Metroid. I've been wondering where a café thread was.

BiC: Tom rolled his eyes. "Damn it," he said in an agitated tone. "More of these heartless things." A strange, key-like weapon came flying from the same direction as the icicles he had seen before. It made cantact with one of the clumsy heartless, making it dissapear in a puff of smoke.

Tom raised an eyebrow. "He obviously knows what he's doing." From where he was standing, it was the truth. All of these people were capable of holding their own. And he would too, if he had a bigger gun. Magical powers might come in handy, too.....

Suddenly, one of the heartless lunged towards him. He effortlessly kicked it as it came in range, sending it flying. It was down, but certainly not out. After getting back up gingerly, it lunged yet again. This time, Tom fired two shots at it. The heartless collapsed and dissapeared in a similar fashion to the other one. 'Great. One down, lots to go. I'll pump them full of lead, and the other people here'll do whatever they do. They can take care of those two huge things while I go get something bigger.

He usually hated working with other people, and this was no exeption. He didn't know who these people were, what they wanted, or where they came from. Apart from the cat lady, of course. She said something about coming from a place called 'Spiira' or something like that.

(OOC: I think alot of us are waiting for the GM to reveal what the monster is, and until he posts there really isn't much to do in this RP... I hope he posts soon).

IC: As the demon saw the two boys destroy the shadows, her heart started pounding and excitement rushed to her head. How could she thought that standing up here was better then going down where the action is? The sounds of the gunshots, the smell of gunpowder, the heat of the fire, and the sight of the slithery dark monsters seemed too much fun to pass up!

But her analytical side managed to seeze control of her impulse and she stared down at all the little dark monsters. She had never really seen such creatures before. She was sure, though, that they were very weak. If the two fighting boys had trouble with them, how could they ever hope to compete with her lord? Ah well, at least she could have fun with it.

Clasping her twin kama from her hips, she peered down at the side of the building, about a ten-stroy drop. She whispers Follow the wind.... The air whirled around her with a magical green hue, enveloped her like a flying blanket and disappeared into nothingness again. She gazed down at the drop and smiled. In a flash, she jumped and ran down the side of the building--a strategy that once won against the powerful Hoggmeiser. Now for the landing... FLOAT! As soon as those words filled her mind, she leapt off the side of the building into a blackflip which landed gently on the cushion of air she made for herself.

Blood rushing into her head, she took a second to take in her surroundings. Shadows were... crawling? Yes, they were crawling. Toward her and everybody else. Dumbstruck, she saw the shadows pull themselves up into the monsters she saw the boys fight. OK, thats... different. Clasping tight to her kama, and still under the influence of her two spells, she began to fight these creatures in a flurry, a smile on her face.

OOC: Yeah, haven't been here in an eternity o_O Given the prices of pretzels and watermelons from Hayner, I'd set the exchange rate at 200 munny to the dollar. That's what I'll use throughout the RP, and I suggest that you do the same.

BIC:
"One large, plain latté, please."

"That's 500 munny, sir."

"Sure, just a moment."

The man reached for a small satchel and pulled out some variously-sized, yellow metal orbs. These, used as the interplanetary form of currency, were dubbed "munny" and given various worth depending on their size. The man quickly counted out five of them and pushed them over. All of the orbs were worth 100 munny, and it didn't take much work to figure that he had paid correctly. Marina punched a few numbers into the register, stored the munny, and handed back a reciept.

"There you are, sir. Your drink will be ready in a few minutes," she said sweetly, handing over a reciept. The man smiled and took it, finding a seat near the center of the room. Marina relaxed a bit, glad to not have to use the (almost cheesy) kind voice anymore. She turned around and repeated the order to those in charge of preparing the drinks, who gave her confirmation that they had heard. Marina sighed. this work was becoming dreadfully boring already, and she was only fifteen minutes in. And those stupid cracks in the café ceiling made it all worse. One was even dripping on her now, in fact...

Marina looked up just as a water droplet fell down from the overhead crevice and caught her in the right eye. Marina blinked the fluid out of her eye and reached for a nearby stool, which she placed under the crack. Marina then reached under the counter and found the duct tape. She grabbed it and climbed onto the stool, then sealed the crack with two pieces of tape in an "X" fasion. She tossed the tape to the other cashier, who stowed it away, and jumped off the stool. Just because she felt daring, she also kicked the stool on her decent, landing it back in its proper place.

"One plain latté, ready for pickup!"

Marina picked up the styrofoam cup and turned back to the counter, where the energetic man was already waiting. Marina took a step toward him, but then the sound of an explosion and a tremor of the ground caused Marina to let go of the latté, spilling it all over the man's shirt. But nobody cared. Ther had just been some sort of blast that had shook the town, and everything was naturally chaos. All the staff were leaving, too, complaining that 'They don't pay us enough to work through this.' and 'I'm not staying here, I want out!'

Marina took this as her cue and threw off her hat, heading for the back exit. She threw her cloak on and let her hair down, then ran outside, where it wasn't raining anymore. But unlike everyone else, she was going toward the direction of the blast, not away. Marina wanted to find out what was going on, and unfortunately the best way to do it around here was to beat the answers out of someone.

Not that it would provide any problems, of course.

OOC: 200 munny to the dollar? I guess that's US dollar. OK, I'll do it at 280 to the dollar, since that's probably closer to the AU exchange rate.

The small heartless that had 'sacraficed' themselves to the huge creatures had obviously provided a power boost.

Tom smirked as a new arrival got straight to work on the two large creatures. This provided him with a near perfect time to purchase some heavier artillery, probably from the item shop in the first district. He began to sprint - it was pretty obvious that if he didn't do it rather quickly, he'd miss out on the battle. Not that he found them fun, he just didn't like missing out on some well-earned experience.

It took him about a minute or so to arrive at the item shop. It was owned by three hyper active ducks: Huey, Dewey, and Lewey. Still panting from the run, he walked up to the counter. The three young ducks began drilling him about the explosion.

"What did it!?"

"Who cares what did it, Huey! I wanna know where the place blew up!"

"You two are being dumb. What I wanna know i-"

Tom cut them off.

"I'm in a hurry, you three. I DO NOT have time to answer one hundred and one pointless questions." The trio straightened up simultaneously.

"Good," Tom said, satisfied. "Now. Do you guys still stock guns?" Huey looked up at him as if he was mad.

"'Course we do. But we don't get many people buying them anymore."

"Thank god. I'm looking something a bit bigger than the Beretta." Tom pushed the pistol across the counter. In a flash, Dewey reached under the counter and pulled out a shotgun, plus a few boxes of ammunition.

"That'll be 15,000 munny." The young duck exclamed, holding out his hand. Tom thought it was a huge amount of munny, but he didn't have much choice. He payed up reluctantly, and began to make his way back to the third district - this time with two guns. It was going to be an extremely difficult battle if it was just him and the new person. (Who he thought looked sort of odd, just like some of the other new arrivals)

Kalasu crouched down, a small smile on his monotone features. His blade of ice in his hand, he awaited the beast that had stormed through Traverse Town. He barely even noticed other people awaiting the beast.

Shadows began crawling on the ground, scuttling on the ground like an army of bugs. His eyes still fixed to the sky, he watched the shadowy being strut along.

Actually, now that the being was in sight, it wasn't really a strut. It was more of a drunken stagger, like the heartless had just jammed it's head in a keg of ale. The being was entirely black, a massive shadow, darkness gathering around it's heels, Shadows crawling from it. The most that was visible on it was a toothy grin, and an odd symbol of a heart branded on its shoulder.

Several smaller heartless seemed to had 'powered up' the monster, as it crouched down, faint incomprehensible mutters rolling off its tongue. There appeared to be more of the same creatures behind the massive heartless, each preparing to attack the small army that had arrived.

"I'd hate to see how their dad looks like," Kalasu said, preparing to spring.

The crouching heartless suddenly swung a fist forward, Kalasu quickly leaping away from the fist. He lifted his sword. Time to party.

Josh stood there, finally of couple of them seemed to be fighting back, the rest seemed to be stunned in silence. The creatures were finally stepping out of the shadows. Their whole body was black, but they had white grins. Kind of hilarious, looking, but still, they were a little ugly. One of the people fighting, the one with the gun run off. He headed twoards the first district. Josh slashed at a couple of more heartless and flew off into the air.

Wow, none of them have noticed my wings yet, I'm amazed. I thought one of them would have said something, or pointed at me. He thought to himself as he flew straight tworads one of the creatures. He flew past slashing at it.

"Come on people, fight!" He yelled as he flew back at the creature slashing again. This time though, it fought back, knocking him out of the air, and knocking him to the ground. He laid there, partily hurt. He got up, blood dribbling off of his forehead. he had been hit, but he wasn't hurt that badly.

Litera growled ferociously upon seeing the shadow abomination. She jumped back and ripped her whip from it's resting place at her side, flicking it angrily. One quick motion of her legs and she was darting around the smaller Heartless, focusing on the larger one.

The Zuidom'm knew that if it was gone, the others would be a peice of cake. Heartless obey stronger Heartless. When they have no one to obey, they would become confused. That... or they would obey her. Which would be interesting.

Litera trashed the side of the giant Heartless with her whip, watching the shadows around heal it again. Again she leapt, but this time she started climbing the brute's arm. Every time it tried to take her off, she simply implanted a grip to cause it pain or jumped and tried to fall back on to it.

No luck though. She felt herself falling and opened a portal of darkness to save herself from hitting the ground hard. She landed on her feet, luckily, after using the portal. The giant creature looked like it had sustained no damage at all. Litera groaned in annoyance. This battle would take a while.

OOC: I almost forgot about this, stupid school.

BIC: "Come on, why'd it have to be Heartless?! I mean I'm a Heartless, but I'm not that Heartless. Even a psycho has limits." Leif stopped to wipe his head. "Decisions, decisions. I can sit back and let my little buddies die, or help the suckers out."

"C-come on, help them?"The inner Leif didn't want to fight. "You, and Shadows? The odds suck.Plus I'm pretty sure these guys are strong."

"Hey, shut up!" He started to bang on his head. "I'm in charge right now, and we're helping out!"

"A-at least fight for the other team." The inner said in a shakey voice. "Help for a bit, and then please leave!"

"Pff, yeah right. I'm doing what I want." He smirked. "My weapons are made of darkness, so I can't kill Heartless anyways."

Leif jumped out of the battle field, and lined the crystals in his swords up. "Control!" A black beam shot out, and hit a single shadow. As quick as it was hit, it wobbled over to Leif. "I shall cal you Roger." It nodded. "They will try to attack me, and you being very weak, shall act as a meat shield and block." Roger nodded again

Leif returned his sword, Eclipse to it's sheath, and held Nightmare in two hands. "Attack!" He started to charge back into the battle, and suddenly stumbled. After regaining balance, Leif continued to charged, with Roger following close behind.

"We are so screwed."

Tom finally arrived to see the battle had truly begun. The guy that had shot the little icicles was bleeding from his forehead. It didn't look serious, though. The 'Cat Lady' as Tom knew her seemed ticked off at the creature she was confronted with. Then there was the one that looked like a snowy TV. He seemed alright. But the one that cought his eye he had never seen before. Actually, he was a sinister looking person, with that cringe-worthy grin, and....yes....yes it was. That strange heart symbol found its place on the back of the black coat he was wearing.

'He's one of them?' Tom thought, puzzled. He looked like a reasonably sane human being. 'And what's more, he's done something to that little black heartless.' He looked towards the bug-like creature. It seemed to be hypnotised or something like that. Suddenly, the guy began charging, and the little heartless followed close behind like a pet dog. Tom sighed. "Great. Juuuuust great. At this rate, I'll be dead in a week or two" He put his guard up, just in case he was the one attacked.

SMACK!

A huge black hand slamed into Tom, the impact sending him flying a few metres. He hit the ground with a thud. Immidiatley, a cringe of pain displayed itself an his face. He had been too wrapped up in everyone else's buisness. He stood back up - albiet with a bit of diffilculty - grasping the shotgun firmly with both hands. The monster seemed satisfied with itself. The cheesy grin was stuck like glue to the gruesome face.

Tom cocked the large gun, which in response made two clicking noises. Suddenly, another massive hand swung with the force of a freight train. He jumped to avoid it....only to land on top of it. 'Oh crud.' He wasn't very sure footed...at all. Wobbling and flailing, he made his way towards the creatures head. "This isn't my idea of a holiday....." he muttered as he reached his destination, quickly driving the butt of the gun towards the creatures head. It made contact, disorientating (and hurting) the beast. Tom jumped down to the pavement, which was a bit far for him. as his feet hit the ground, the shock of the hard concrete put him into a barrel roll to the side.

"How to make yourself look like an idiot in one easy step" He said while rubbing a painful shoulder.

The ninja demon looked up at the giant booze-restrained creature swaggering among the fire. Judging by the way the other creatures seemed to swarm around it, that must be the boss. So, these little ones here must be its minions... she thought to herself, persperation beginning to appear like shining glitter on her forehead. She prepared herself to attack more of the little shadows, when her eye caught the movements of several other creatures beginning to engage the other emblemed monsters that danced around the big one.

A Neko-mata? She wondered, as she saw a cat-creature smash them with the same ferocity as the cat demons of the Netherworld. But no, this one clothed herself entirely, covering what neko-matas took considerable pride in. Regardless, the revelation of such a creature comforted the ninja girl, perhaps this world truly doesn't have as many difference from the Netherworld as she once thought?

Her attention snapped alive as one of the shadows jabbed its claw in her side, scratching her weakly. Though these creatures were not directly powerful, their numbers wore you down in degrees. As though they wished to have you despair over the anguish of the small snipes they made on your flesh. She had been fortunate to avoid a majority of the attacks, but their numbers swelled and even her speed couldn't avoid the deludge.

BANG! Her eyes visibly moved to the sound. A boy was rolling to his side, he seemed hurt as he rubbed his shoulder painfully. The Neko-mata can hold her own, that Scout might need help. She reasoned, preparing a spell. Float! Setting her kama back to her sides, she leapt over the ring of shadows swarming around her, and another cushion of air pushed her body up from the ground. Hastily, she reached over to the boy on the ground, who quickly whirled in front of her, gun poised and ready.

Used to this knee-jerk reaction, Kari's eyes and words showed no fear to the risk of death. "We're not dead yet. Let us fight these together, you can cover me." She quickly reached for her kama and prepared for the fight ahead of her, a toothy smile on her face.

(to Vantage: Yes, I know your character wouldn't trust her, but she's naive enough to think that fighting together would be to both their benefits to consider getting shot by your character.)
