Heart of Chaos
(A Kingdom Hearts based RP, but it really isn’t Kingdom Hearts. So no intelligence of Kingdom Hearts is necessary. Just to let you know.)
Story:
What is the heart?
The core of all beings. It can be a part of us that we reveal to each other freely, showing who we really are, or it can be something locked deep inside ourselves. There is the part of the heart that wishes to do only justice, what is good and right, just as there is the part of the heart that wishes to feed on injustice, hatred, fear, any emotions that just seem to belong to those...without a heart.
Just who are those people?
I don’t really know. There are people who have hearts...and some who are just…heartless.
But there are also parts of us that are mere fragments of ourselves! A stray emotion, a lost memory, the tiny fragments that are dropped into the void of a heartless person, the seemingly unimportant details that we dismiss just as soon as we become aware of them! If we lose our hearts, what happens to them?
And what happens when we lose something even more than that? What if something as important as your…your…memory! What if your memory is thrown into the dark voids of a lost heart? Who would help you find it? Or how do you get it back?
...I don’t know. We may never know. Perhaps you can figure that out for yourself. Why are you asking me this?
Just wondering…
That’s probably all we can do. All one can do is wonder…
Somewhere in a world, there is a core of it. A heart, you might call it. It holds each and every fragment of a person, chronicles each person’s story from the beginning to the end. It holds positive emotions, courage, kindness, friendship, and negative thoughts, revenge, hatred, distrust. It is the very essence of life; the very heart of all beings.
Somewhere in a world, somewhere on it, someone has lost their own heart. They fell into the darkness, swallowed into a void of nightmares and chaos. No light shall ever shine into that void. They become a very being of darkness, a disciple of a blackened soul. They hunt for the heart of that world, searching to destroy what has been ripped from their own body.
They are simply…Heartless. Beings who have fallen so deep into darkness that they have lost any opportunity to become light again. They earn their revenge by striking at those who have what they have never been able to obtain. They hate those with hearts; fear them, because once they were just like them.
Somewhere in a world, the heart of the world has been lost to the darkness. Enveloped in a shroud of shadow, their light is doused from the world, shielded from any hope of rebirth.
That is the very first step to the path of destruction.
There are things in each world that must never be discovered. But eventually, they are, and bring on destruction. Such as the heart of a world. The center of a world is protected by a door, a gate, sealed away for who knows how long, to never be opened again, for so it has been said, shall be, and should ever be.
However, one day, a curious scholar named Ansem discovered this very thing.
He conducted an experiment to answer a question that had never been answered. He wanted to discover what happened to those who lost a heart. He took away the heart of one of his subjects, and in its place stood an odd being. A shadowy being, crawling on the ground, chasing people like a shadow. Shadows they would be called. He experimented on making a small team of these odd beings, letting them roam around his castle freely.
One day, they began behaving rather oddly, scurrying around the castle, as if searching for something. They ducked into dark corners, nooks and crannies, searching for a thing they were desperately seeking. Ansem led them out of the castle, allowing them to search on their own.
They discovered a gate underneath the castle, leading to a door with a large keyhole. Ansem, in all his curiosity, opened the door, allowing the Shadows to explore the heart of the world. They began eating at the fabrics of other strange doors, opening up the paths to other worlds. They zoomed through each open door, traveling to worlds known…and unknown.
Great power lied in the heart of the world, and Ansem was recipient to it. Voices spoke in his head of fortunes untold, of power beyond imagining, and knowledge that would exceed the very universe itself. Sucked into the voices, and guided by greed, Ansem wanted this, and followed his creations to other worlds, and destroyed his body in the process. However, the darkness slowly created a new, stronger body for him, allowing him to travel from world to world with ease, taking them over as he went on. As his creations slayed the inhabitants, the former inhabitants, losing their hearts, joined the darkness as well. He decided to call these beings Heartless, and that would be their universal name.
His cravings for power eventually led him to search for the legendary Heart of All Worlds, Kingdom Hearts. To unlock the seven locks on the door, Ansem searched for seven girls from the worlds, known as Princesses of Heart. Being pure of heart, they could open the locks set on the door to Kingdom Hearts. However, unknown to him, he was being fought back by a small resistance. A very small resistance.
A boy named Sora discovered an odd key-shaped sword known as the Keyblade. After his home, Destiny Islands was destroyed, and he lost his two friends, Riku and Kairi, he traveled the world with two knights of the Disney Castle, Goofy and Donald Duck. Goofy and Donald were in search of their king, King Mickey, who asked his two top knights to search for the Bearer of the Keyblade. They found Sora, and the three went around the worlds. They discovered Heartless there, all of which seemed to be afraid of Sora’s weapon. The three battled the Heartless, discovered doors to the worlds, and sealed them from Heartless with the Keyblade.
Eventually, Sora found his two old friends—Kairi, who was stolen by Riku and Ansem, and Riku, who seemed to have fallen into darkness. He had a keyblade, but a twisted version of Sora’s. They fought on several occasions, and it wasn’t until they traveled into the depths of the Heartless’s home base that Sora discovered who Riku was. Riku, his old friend, was sealed away by Ansem, who had come to take over Riku’s body. Ansem, gathering the seven Princesses of Heart, the seventh being Kairi, opened the door to Kingdom Hearts. Sora and his companions knew what to do, and after recovering and reuniting with old friends, they set off to the End of the Worlds, where Ansem awaited.
After several mighty battles, Sora and Ansem finally stood at Kingdom Hearts. Ansem, in a desperate attempt, opened the path to Kingdom Hearts, but instead of being shrouded in the ultimate darkness, he was shrouded with a purifying light, the light of all hearts. Inside Kingdom Hearts gathered Heartless, the true heart of all worlds missing. Inside the door as well was Riku himself, and King Mickey. King Mickey, with his own Keyblade, and Sora with his, locked the Keyblades together to seal away Kingdom Hearts once more.
Kairi and Sora reunited once again, but separated quickly. Sora had to continue his quest to find Riku, before the three could truly be reunited. They promised to see each other again, and traveled off in their own separate ways. Kairi traveled back to the reborn Destiny Islands, and waited there for Sora’s return. Sora, meanwhile, traveled his own way…
And that was the last anyone ever saw of him.
Many of the worlds have been very peaceful ever since Sora sealed away Kingdom Hearts, destroying many of the Heartless in the process. Heartless still remain, but many have been in hiding, for the general attitude of the Heartless is of course, negative.
However, although some people do good and right, although some people just can’t seem to become Heartless, some people do fall into the corrupt powers of darkness. However, their hearts do fight back against the darkness, and eventually the two powers collide and create two separate beings. Heartless…and Nobodies.
As Heartless are merely shells of a body without a heart, Nobodies are shells of a heart without a true body. As Heartless are usually black and made of darkness, Nobodies are usually dressed in white or grey colors. Like the Heartless, they search for their bodies to be alive again, to hold as their own…but alas, their quest usually fails. People have no idea how far a Nobody will go to earn their rightful self back, but it usually involves mingling in with the Heartless. They do not really care for the hearts of the world, but sometimes aid the Heartless so that they may get what they want—their body.
The Heartless and Nobodies have begun a conquest of the worlds, beginning to swarm and take over many different lands. This was found odd by many people, as they learned Heartless acting only on instinct, and these Nobodies seemed oddly crafty and intelligent. They awaited the return of Sora and his friends, combating the creatures as best as they could until then. However, many worlds fell to the monster’s plights…
One day, two visitors arrived at Disney Castle. Lo and behold, they were none other than Donald and Goofy, Sora’s two friends. However, they were found beaten and battered, arriving in a near-destroyed ship, each in a hideous state. They were quickly hospitalized, staying in comas for quite a while. But the oddest thing was the fact that Sora was not with them…
Some worlds were destroyed. Some flicked away the Heartless in less than a blink of an eye. But all were baffled by how well-planned this invasion seemed to have turned out…something oddly amiss was going on, but nobody could figure out a way to stop it.
“Things seem to be going rather well, if I do say so myself.”
“Of course they are. We’ve got all these Heartless on our side…and ever since the addition of those cloaked Nobodies and their servants, we’ll definitely win…oh wait, check it out, the others are coming.”
“Hehehehe...talking without us, cream puffs?”
“Uh…no.”
“Silence, silence, all of you! A-hem, so, are we all present?”
“Yep.”
“Of course.”
“Hehehe…”
“What do you think?”
“Present.”
“President.”
“Mm-hmm.”
“Oh yeah, baby!”
“I suppose.”
“…”
“All right. Now, if we are to conquer the worlds, what we need is the Forbidden Power.”
“Forbidden Power?”
“Have you been hiding under a rock all this time? The Forbidden Power was obviously read about in the Prophecy!”
“Oh, yeah, that. I remember. Sorry.”
“Anyway, if I may continue, if we are to obtain this Forbidden Power, we must firstly find those who can serve as the servers. Like the Princesses of Heart, for example. Do any of you have any idea as to what we can use for it?”
“Nope.”
“That goes for all of us, I guess. But before we get to something like that Forbidden something, I am curious about one thing. What if we encounter resistance? What if Sora returns?”
“We will conquer them all. Unless the Prophecy read something about another Keybearer, or some other group of warriors that can fight our armies, we have nothing to worry about. Let’s get on with it.”
“Hehehe…get on with it. A-tisket, a-tasket, a little tiny basket…”
“Oh, shut it with that song! It’s getting on my nerves!”
“Silence, silence, SILENCE! Listen, our first priority is to find something for the servers of the Forbidden Power. With that, we will easily be able to do whatever and not worry about something small like a resistance. Unless another Keyblade pops up, there’s nothing to worry about! Are all of you ready?”
“Uh-huh.”
“No duh.”
“Hehehe…”
“Yes.”
“Affirmative.”
“Eh-heh. Yeah.”
“Okay.”
“Ooooh…YEAH!”
“I am.”
“…”
“Then let us get going!”
“But aren’t you worried about one thing?”
“What would that be?”
“The Forbidden Power’s forbidden for a reason…aren’t you afraid of that?”
“Why, when we are the strongest group of villains ever born? Come, let us begin our plight…”
Mistress Minnie Mouse gazed dreamily out of the window of the great Disney Castle. She stood out by the Medical Bay, having just visited the great magician Donald Duck and the head knight, Goofy. They were doing better, awakening every once in a while, with all of their vital memories intact, but with the exception of what happened ever since Sora sealed away Kingdom Hearts.
As she gazed through the window, she noticed something rather peculiar. Some stars appeared to be falling from the sky, and deep memories that were stored deep inside her rose to the surface of her mind.
Sora was needed. But he was gone, and so his duty would be passed down to other people. Yes, if only there were at least one more Keyblade, perhaps they would have a chance. The key bearers would definitely need some assistance from others as they traveled the worlds, assaulted by the Heartless and Nobodies this way and that.
She could only hope that they would succeed…for as long as there is darkness, there would be the Heartless…and there is darkness in every heart…
Phew. That’s finally done. Mwahaha. Now, we get to do all the explanation of things in the roleplay. Oh…joy.
Keyblades and Other Weapons: Keyblades. Yeah, they’re sword-like weapons with a key-like thing near the tip. They can unlock any sort of door, including the door to one’s heart. They also are used to lock things, such as the door to the heart of a world (hinthint). If you attach Keychains to them, the Keyblades transform into different forms. The standard one a key bearer gets is a Kingdom Key, which is a basic keyblade, silver, crown-shaped key teeth, golden hilt with a sort of shield thing that covers a person’s hand, and has a keychain of the Disney Castle emblem, shaped like Mickey Mouse’s head. In other words, one large circle with two smaller circles on top, like ears. The Keychains change the shape of the Keyblade, like I said above. But you aren’t limited to a Keyblade. You can use stuff like chakrams, swords, shields, axes, guns, bows and arrows, whatever. They can’t lock/unlock things, but they can change form using different chains, like Keychains. But we’re going to need at least one Keybearer.
Heartless/Nobodies: I think I explained them pretty well up there. Heartless/Nobodies come in many forms, and fight you on your quest. Defeating Heartless restores people’s hearts sometimes, and defeating Nobodies sometimes restores their bodies, depending on how long they’ve been in that form. The Heartless/Nobodies fear the Keybearer’s group, because that Keyblade can lock away their goals. Hahaha…funny.
Worlds: Okey-dokey. We travel to the worlds through Gummi ships, which are spaceships that are used to travel to different worlds when the paths are open. We’ll get one through one way or another. I’ll make a list at the start of the roleplay, and I’ll edit it as we travel to different worlds.
Traverse Town: The town where we begin. This is a refuge for all those whose worlds have been destroyed. It has magical properties, so as more people arrive, more districts are created to house the people. Unfortunately, Heartless and Nobodies thrive here too, meaning we’ll have some fights here. Several familiar characters, if you’ve played the Final Fantasy series, hang around here, and all have knowledge of the legends of the Keyblades and Ansem, as they hail from the world Ansem once lived in.
Disney Castle: Where the royal Kingdom ruling over the worlds live. Yeah, King Mickey is supposed to rule, but Minnie Mouse rules in his absence. Donald and Goofy are recovering here. Despite the fact that this castle doesn’t seem well defended, there’s a rather large magical shield protecting the castle, preventing all entrances unless you have proof that you’re on their side, and permission to enter.
Hollow Bastion: Once, it was the base for the Heartless, but now it has become a wide, bustling town where several people live in. It’s well guarded, so most Heartless/Nobodies can’t get through…but lately, some have. It’s more of a new and improved Traverse Town, but the prices to buy things are so filthy rich that you’d think some greedy person was pulling the strings behind this town…
Destiny Islands: Whee. The homeworld of Sora and his friends, Destiny Islands is, believe it or not, a set of islands on a world that is mainly made up of ocean. A large population of humans live here, and most of them do not know of other worlds outside their own. The Heartless/Nobodies usually strike here, due to the fact it has the least amount of resistance.
…and more as we come to them. Now, here’s the interesting part of this speech. You can submit your own worlds. Yeah.
Nomination form:
Video game/Movie world: Allowed, but only if the world is small or it’s a small part of the game/movie. Like in KHII, they practically put the Lion King and other movie worlds in a nutshell. For example, you can put in something like Killer7, but probably only one target/chapter of it.
World Name: (If it’s from a movie or game, state which one.)
Hero:
Enemies: (Give an example of two or three)
Head Villain/Boss:
Reason for Visit:
Description:
Species of the Worlds: Yes, there are plenty of humans, we know that. Your character can come from any world, so you really don’t have any limits. But keep in mind I don’t want any overpowered characters, like humans that can talk with animals and transform into dragons. They can have wings or a tail or whatever, but they can’t have any super-duper powers.
The Sign-up Sheet: At last!
This is a story separate from that of Sora. I do not want to see a thousand and one characters that are nothing separate from Riku-clones. The most important thing for you to keep in mind is to keep your characters far away from Sora. In the RP, you’ll have NO IDEA about Ansem, the Organization, or anything really major; there is no real reason you should. When you begin to design your character, it’s easy to make it look like they were sitting right behind Sora the entire way. Don’t do that.
With that in mind, I present you the sign-up form…
Name:
Age: (13-20)
Gender:
Species:
Appearance:
Personality:
Home World: (Even if it isn’t accepted, you can just make up a world name and say it was destroyed.)
History: (Optional)
Weapon: (Keep it basic for now, I don’t want any super lasers that can wipe out enemies in a single blow.)
Abilities/Spells: (Keep it basic for now, like weapons.)
Other: (Crud goes here)
Summon Sign-Up (Optional): (You’ll get one or two as the roleplay goes on. They can hail from any video game/television show/movie, as long as they are believable. I don’t want Donald Trump coming up and saying “You’re fired.”)
Name:
Gender:
Appearance:
Personality (Optional, doesn’t have to be too long in this case):
Effect/Attacks/Abilities/Spells/Whatever you call it:
Me Sign-Up (Yhey)
Name: Kalasu Torentros
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Nobody
Appearance: Once human, Kalasu is five feet tall, with white hair that is combed back neatly, his bangs combed back over his head. His entire body is a monochromic black, grey and white, like most Nobodies. His skin is a dark grey, most of it obscured by his clothing. The only exception to his color scheme is his pair of crimson eyes, with only black irises and pupils, which are partly obscured with black sunglasses. He wears a black sweater with a grey tee shirt over it, with the white cross-like symbol of a Nobody on the front and back of it. A light grey, near-white scarf is worn around his neck, the tails hanging down on his back. Kalasu wears several black belts that cross over his entire waist, wearing black trousers. He wears what seem to have been wooden sandals, which are a black. He has two grey wings that appear to be staticky, like a television with bad reception. He cannot fly well with his wings, and can only hover a few inches above the ground with them. His wings sometimes don’t work even in this case, and sometimes disperse into nothingness for short periods of time, which is why he rarely uses his wings, unless to absorb attacks.
Personality: Sarcastic, confident and a bit insane, Kalasu is rather strong, or at least he likes to think of himself as that. As a Nobody, he doesn’t care for finding his body, he just cares about all these new powers he has obtained, which is quite odd for a Nobody. He did not want to join any sort of army, and behaves like a mercenary, battling only fights he wants to. He retained his sarcasm in his new form, and usually enjoys teasing people just to see their reaction. When one gets to know him, they would learn that he really doesn’t mean a lot of things he says, and his way of teasing is a sort of twisted way of having fun. He can be a valuable asset sometimes, with his powers of ice. He enjoys battling others for sport, whether it’s an all-out war or just a small practice fight. His attitude, unfortunately, usually gets him into some sticky situations where he can’t back out of it, so one would have to be veeeerry patient if they wanted to handle Kalasu.
Home World: Alpha (Destroyed because I’m too lazy to make a profile for it.)
History: Rather simplistic, Kalasu lived in his home peacefully until the Nobodies and Heartless invaded it. He was unable to fight them, except with a sword that wasn’t really meant to be used to fight with. He lost his body to a Nobody, and became one as well. Being witness to the Nobody’s power, he not only decided to earn the powers of a Nobody, but to fight them too. He doesn’t mind if he never gets his true body back, because all he really needs are these new skills he has obtained. And so, with his world destroyed, he ended up in Traverse Town, and has been considered an ally, despite the bad name his race has.
Weapon: Kalasu dubs his sword the Imperial Frost, which has a plain silver hilt with several small blue points around the handle, which can’t really hurt one who touches it. The actual blade is made of a pale, translucent crystal, which appears to be made of ice. It really isn’t that sharp, so it’s not too useful to fight with.
Abilities/Spells:
Ice Dagger: Several small shards of ice fly through the air to an enemy, slashing them with sharpened ice.
Echo of Ice: Forms a small orb of ice, which is used like a small bomb of ice.
Ice Fang: Summons an icicle to jab through the ground, coming up underneath a target.
Ice Defense: A shield made of ice, with the emblem of the Nobodies carved into it, comes up to temporarily block weak attacks.
Summons:
Name: Cold Shadow (from the Disney SNES game, Cold Shadow)
Gender: Male
Appearance: In a nutshell, Cold Shadow is a ninja duck. He is thin and lanky, meant for stealth, agility and speed rather than fighting. He is dressed with a shadowy cloak-like toga, tied off with a long, flowing scarlet belt, the two ends hanging just above his feet. Over his eyes is a crimson blindfold, and although it seems to blind him, it actually helps him detect enemies and attacks from different sides and angles. He carries around a very flexible bamboo pole, with two sharpened pieces of gold attached to each side.
Personality: Cold Shadow doesn’t show much personality. All one can really tell from him is that he is calm, cool and calculating, sometimes waiting for several minutes before striking. He isn’t the type of person you would want to meet in a dark alley, and his staff usually talks more than he does. He can be found having fun sometimes, doing tricks with his staff, such as balancing it on his finger or his bill, if he is bored.
Effect/Attacks/ Etc:
Blitz Beat: Cold Shadow makes four different colored copies of himself, which each strike simultaneously in quick successions.
Teleport: Grabbing someone or something or just soloing the run, Cold Shadow runs at high speeds, unable to control direction, but can breeze through most attacks.
Volcano Fist: Cold Shadow envelops himself in fire, then charges at the enemy.
Test of Duckhood: Forms a large orb of fire, draining Kalasu’s energy depending on the size of the fireball, and throws it down onto the field, consuming the battlefield in fire, including friend and foe.
…and that’s currently what I can think of. Anything else I need to add will be added. That’s all for now.

Gender:
Species:
