(I didn't know where to put this, so I just decided here)

So basicly, my comp this morning was acting all funny. I turn it on and go to the br, and when I come bak theres like, a billion pop-ups from internet explorer (even though I wasn't using any internet or anything (I had just logged on)) and it says I have to connect, or work offline (a connection box also popped up, but thats weird becasue I have CABLE INTERNET O___o) And like, the background also changed. It changed to black, with text at the bottom right saying my comps in danger and that theres spyware on it and stuff.

So I try running registry fix, but it keeps shutting down. I'm starting to get a little worried here, since I cannot change to background to it's normal self (somebody on another forum siad it was a thing called "safe mode" or something, but I don't know what that is..) and various other things.

So mind helping me out? Is there a specific program I should download to get the viruses to go away??

Ouch! That's sounds like a nasty virus. Unfortunately, I'm not the best person when it comes to viruses or anything technically-computer wise. Also, (trying not to mini-mod) but it doesn't belong here. But that's not the main theme of this post so it's not mini-modding... It's just advice...

What spyware programs ya got?

If you don't have any, you can go to download.com, look up spybot search and destroy, download and install. Then update for all the current definitions.

Reboot into safe mode, and run spybot. If that doesn't work, then you can go into system restore, and reset your computer back to an earlier date.

AND if that doesn't work...then wait for someone smarter to post =)

Download Spyboy and Ad Aware. I currently have a Spyware infection aswell, already hit two popups when writing this post >.>

Also if those don't work, click >Here< to go to a forum where they can help you get rid of it. Usually takes a few days though

Spybot and Adaware are two known ones and work well. AVG Anti Virus I have heard good things about as well.
