One of the better vampire anime. Discuss here!

I must say that Alucard is one of the most badass characters in all of anime.

The dub was good (mostly due to Freeman), but overall, the original anime series was awful after the Valentine Brothers.

The Ultimate OVAs are better so far, but it still has the same meh animation as the first series.

You're really picky when it comes to anime, aren't you? lol

"Good" is an opinion. I see you have One-Piece in your signature. Which, in my opinion, sucks.

Different strokes, eh?

Which I can see your reasons why. But you still come into my threads just to stir up an arguement. <.<

Meh, the music was decent in the original series, but that's just about it. Incognito made me realize how awful an animation studio Gonzo is, so, in short I regard everything else except for Blue Submarine No. 6 to either be crap, overrated, or lackluster (and yes, that includes Last Exile, which not even its decent animation with its fugly integration of 2-D and 3-D usage, and its nice soundtrack could save it from generic plot, characters, dialogue, and ending).

The OVA is great so far, though.

Like he said, I like good anime myself, and I dislike bad anime. Sure, it is all subjective, but having a wide variety of tastes instead of making myself watch only shounen and fan service crap does that to a fan.

Speaking of the manga,

Alucard crying lol

Eh, it was fitting for the occasion. One of Alucard's worst fears came true, and who it happened to was someone whom he had deeply respected.

I agree with that. I loved the Gonzo Digimation animation -way- more than the Geneon animation, but the Geneon OVA seems to stay on track with the story far more and will most likely advance in plot rather than going off and making their own story.

Uh, Geneon only supported the finance aspect of the OVA, not actually constructing the animation, unless I'm ignorant here.

Personally I think that the animation and art is better in the OVA, in addition to my bias against Gonzo.

Yeah, I just said "Geneon animation" because I was unsure who actually animated it, my bad. But I checked it up on ANN and: Satelight did the animation. Never heard of 'em.

Whoa, the Gonzo Digimation was awesome, except for the intro, mayn, they must've blew a lot of the budget on that.

Funny, I was just thinking of starting a topic about Hellsing the other day.

Anyway. I really am glad they're doing the OVA. The animation and music for the anime were good, but the plot line was lacking. The first few episodes were good, and then they started to center around Seras and develop her character and leave everyone else behind. Not to mention there was practically nothing to do with Millennium. ;_; Except for Jan and Luke. Depressing.

I don't like the animation for the OVA as much, and I didn't like the music either, but it's growing on me. I'm just glad they're doing the OVA in the first place. Looking forward to the next installment, really looking forward to when Millennium starts to come into the picture, especially Schrö. I have an unhealthy obsession with the bad guys.

Same.

The music, intro included, was the only nice thing about the television series, sadly. :/

The next episode should cover the majority of volume two, if not all of it, I suspect. Then, after that, we should be getting the material that we didn't get in the original television series... now THAT'S going to be worth the wait.

You add so much to the discussion, TSC, but we love ya anyway. ;D

Woo Anderson!

TSC showed me it earlier, and yes, a very nice cover. Dunno why, but Hirano's style has always been so damn appealing to me.

(Now we just have to wait a few months for Dark Horse to bring it over.)

As far as I can tell from the trailer, the second episode's climax is when Jan and Luke invade Hellsing headquarters, so I would say you're correct. Only about a month and we'll know for sure.

Hm. Makes sense Anderson is on the cover, he gets really involved in volume eight. 'Tis a good instalment. Can't wait for nine to be finished.

one other note you should be aware of: In the manga, the offical hair color to Anderson is NOT blond, but grey/white.
