Oh yes, I think that I have found one of the more unique mangas out there. I don't think that there is really anything that has any Japanese unfluence at all, something that I have never seen before. So yeah, this is a general discussion about the manga, Hellsing, obviously.

Does anyone else here like Hellsing? I had just picked up the six translated volumes in English that have been released in the U.S. this past Tuesday, and I have to say, it is ****ing awesome. Alucard, while a bit overpowered IMO (I never really thought that he would loose a fight throughout the whole thing so far, save for *possibly* his fight with Anderson), is a great character with some kickass guns.

I also like the plot so far with the Nazis and the vampires, and how the rumors about the two in real life is put in the story. Tis truly badass.

Yes, Hellsing manga is simply amazing! I love it!! Volume 7 should be out in September. Oh if you think it couldn't get any better, there will be a new OVA for Hellsing! They said it will be closer to the manga and each episode will be 35 minute long! this will blow the other anime out of the water!

Anyone know if the manga's finished in Japan yet?

If I'm not mistaken, it is currently out with Volume 7 in and is like, four chapters into Volume 8 (not released yet). So to answer your question, no, Hellsing Manga isn't finished in Japan.

I do wish that it could come out faster for Japan though. I forget which magazine it comes out there for, but I think that it only comes out with one chapter every month or so. I mean, I like the quality and all, but I wish that we had more quantity of it. :p Plus, that could mean that we might get faster GN over here in the U.S. if that were to happen. :D

That Scary Clefairy, I had heard about the OVA. I'm glad that they are making it, because I had heard that the anime (I haven't seen it yet) didn't include the Nazis because the arc wasn't finished at the time they put it out, and it was rather disappointing (sp?) compared to the manga. I'm glad that we will see Alucard's and Anderson's fight in motion though; that will be badass. That is, if it hasn't shown up in the anime. Does it?

Plus, I want to see more of Walter. He has got to be the most badass butler ever. XD

Anderson vs. Alucard first fight, was animated and nother filler fight which suck was made in the anime but that it. In the manga as you know there three badass fights. the third happens in the upcoming volume 8.

Oh and about the manga coming out faster, It coming out a hell lot faster than it use to be. there almost done with completeing all the chapters for volume 8.

Ah, that sucks then. Personall Anderson is one of my favorite characters in there, with his bayonets coming out like crazy. I have a question though, how did they exactly set up the fight in the anime? The same way that it was with the manga or differently?

Hmm... are you referring to the Alucard/Luke fight and the Alucard/Tubalcain fight? Or the Alucard/Anderson one? Oh well, I look forward to Volume 8. [SPOIL]Even though I haven't read it online yet, I have heard that there are some betrayals in either Volume 7 or Volume 8.[/SPOIL]

Damn, so does that mean that they are at... like nine chapters into Volume 8? Heh, cause that is cool. If it does end up coming out faster over there, then I'm hopin' that it will come out faster here in the U.S.

the first fight is very simlar to the manga so no need to worry. the anime never had the second fight which is the fist fight at Rio and the lastest fight from the manga. i'm not spoiling it but it in volume 8 and still continuing right now in Japan. the anime had this second fight which suck. it made anderson look like a fool.

Radiance of Shadows
Ah, then it is good. Although I'm confused as to what fights you are referring to though... sorry 'bout that. ^^;

I'm going to check out the anime soon I guess. Although from what I have heard, it is hardly anything compared to the anime. But is the anime still good (while the manga pWNz it), or does it just suck? And Anderson looks like a fool in a second fight that he has with Alucard? Damn, that sucks. :X

I'd hit it!
Ooo.. Hellsing. One of my favorite Mangas next to Saiyuki and Gamerz Heaven. I like the theme for Hellsing also.

Radiance of Shadows
^ By the theme you mean the vampires? If so, then I agree. I find it intersting that in the story Kohta Hirano includes [SPOIL]real-life rumors regarding Nazis and their practices in occult, as well as their involvements after World War II in South America.[/SPOIL] To be honest, I rarely seen that done in fiction, let alone manga nowadays.

actually, the Nazis really did go to South America and it wasn't just a rumor. but yea, Kohta had interesting tibits of WWII info.

I actually just meant [SPOIL]their possible involvements in the occult[/SPOIL], but I guess I did really clarify then did I? :p

Btw, That Scary Clefairy, since you have read the manga online (I presume from what you have said), could you tell me how true Dark Horse Manga's editions are to the original? I'm just a bit curious.

Yea, Dark Horse's translations are very dead accurate to the orignal. Dark Horse is a real professional comanpy and i trust their translations. The do the other mangas very well too like Trigun, Berserk, and Oh My Goddess. That why alot of anime or manga fans like when titles are liscense by Dark Horse.

BTW, HellKorn, if you want to ask anymore questions concerning Hellsing or manga in general, you can IM me on aim. My sn is Kenshin007X. i have yours but don't see you online.

That's cool; I knew that Dark Horse had a good translation with Trigun and Trigun Maximum (because I have read it on the internet and I have the GN's), but I wasn't entirely sure with Hellsing. I'm also figuring to get Berserk soon as well; while I have heard that it does have its low points later on with the story, everyone who has read it liked it a lot.

Dark Horse definitely seems like an excellent liscenser for manga; they have some really great titles and great translations. If only someone like Viz could catch onto actually translating the manga instead of just putting in dialogue that is occasionly not even remotely mentioned in the original.

I'm not usually on AIM all that much anymore. I usually only get on... like, once a month. I usually talk to my friends on the phone or go over to their place, so I don't really use it for that. Plus I haven't been online as much as I used to for a long time. I'll probably be on AIM during the summer though, which'll start on June 9th for me. XD

Yea you should read Berserk. it amazing! The story, characters, everything. I'm curious who told you it had it low points when it get hell ot better later on in the series! The anime also out and is also recommended to get but it only covers volume 1 and volume 4 to 13.

Oh ok i understand with aim. just that if you are willing to ask question on either Hellsing , Berserk or any anime/manga for the matter i'll be on to help you.^__^

I love the manga! it is sooo ... i cant even think of a word for it, the whole story line is just amazing, and it is one of the best selling manga's right now. The characters itself (ecsecialy Alucard who is sex-c) are amazing and well developed

Well, I just got Beserk this weekend. Only problem is that I got Volumes 2 through 7. I still need to get Volume 1. ^^; I've flipped through it though, and I can see why it has a rating of 18+, really gory, violent, some sexual content and language. So does Berserk end at Volume 13 or does it continue after that?

Will note that help with any manga on AIM. I'll be sure to remember that man.

Like I've mentioned before, I really like how Kohta puts in the Nazi's involvment with the occult. I don't think that I have ever seen any comic of any fashion go into that, save for Hellboy that is. The only thing that I find a bit hard to grasp is Alucard's uber powers. Can anyone tell me if it is mentioned in Volume 7 or the bits in Volume 8 that Alucard can possibly die/have a weakness?

awesome so you got Berserk volum 2 to 7. If i were you, i'll wait until you get volume one before reading on cause there are some things you need to read in the first one to understand onward. Berserk manga continue way beyond that. In Japan they're up to volume 29. Volume 1, 4to13 is what the anime version covers. everything after that is manga only which is why i suggest starting with the manga.
Well about alucard. He can die but it just very hard to. in volume 3, Alucard did say to pip that his coffin is where he born and where he die. From volume 8 it only a speculation but [SPOIL]When Alucard turns into Dracula, he sends out his army of undeads he had killed. it was speculated that if someone killed his entire army, he dies. Only other fact is the only a human can kill him.[/SPOIL]

I had ordered Volume 1 of Berserk two Saturdays ago (May 28th) at Bordersand I just got it last Friday. Fast order. :D Yeah, I did wait until I got Volume 1 before I read on further. Although I still haven't gotten around to readin' it yet; I've been catching up on some other mangas and saving up to read it. I should be done about... well, at least by this upcoming Saturday. And Japan is up to Volume 29?! Damn, long series.

Huh, well, I knew that Alucard has to die in some way, I was just wondering exactly how he could. And yeah, it was pretty much obvious that he couldn't die the easy way for vampires ever since the first chapter when he stopped the Vicar, and then later on against Anderson. As for the spoiler:

[SPOIL]Alright, so he basically sends out all of the people that he had killed in the past? Damn, that is a lot. o.0 I somehow doubt that he could be killed by simply having his undead army completely slaughtered. Maybe make it easier to destroy him, but not actually do it. Meh, we'll find out eventually... I hope.[/SPOIL]

Alucard's possible way to die is very ambigious but one fact is that only a human can kill him. one is Van Helsing was able to defeat him and two, Alucard said it to a vampire( i forgot which though) or Anderson.
