I don't really undertsand your question that well, but yes, there are game mechanics for G/S/C such as shiny pokemon, breeding, genders, IVs, other hidden values, ect.

If you're saying that you want to find a place with info on game mechanics for the second generation, then I suggest you go to google or some gaming website and do a search on it.
