Breed for better attacks, use standard movesets (with the exception to a few attacks, I.E. Focus Punch), EV train, look for the right Nature and IV's. Use OU or Lati@s Poke's (unless you want a challange), get your team rated before daring to start, and be patient. Also, with the excemption to the factory, try to get level 60+ Pokemon for open level, and make sure all Pokemon are the same level. In the factory, I heard level 50 is much easier then Open Level.

I've never done the Battle Frontier, I restarted my game despite getting there, I will do it one day though.

But if I think correctly, the Battle Frontier is where that hidden part of pokemon comes into play. No longer can you waltz through it like you would a gym despite having a super strong pokemon even with a type disadvantage. Like Zora said, you need to make sure you have the right IV stats. Then EV train carefully in a specific areas.

I may be over exaggerating here of course, because I've not yet took a challenge :p

No you are not over exaggerating. I do all of that and it IS still challanging.

You have to work at it. Think of one of your pokemon's weaknesses, then get a pokemon that is good against it. And don't use normal type attacks.

Try to match up the types as best you can with an all round team, and make sure some of you PKMN now moves to counter their weaknesses, and that they have a varied movesets. Items like Leftovers and Scope Lens help alot too.
