It's been a long time since I last posted here and It's been a long time since I got interested in buying a new video game console but suddenly I felt like buyin' a new one and I'm kinda stucked in choosing one of the three portable consoles, PSP, DS and the Gameboy Micro. I find these qualities in each of them:

Gameboy Micro: It looks real good, really small, it's "clean", I already have the GBA SP and three GBAs (I got a bro and he buys everything I buy hehe) so I have many GBA games, but this is no advantage over the DS since it can play GBA games and whatsoever. The biggest advantage is that here in Brazil, it costs R$ 450,00 (shipping, store stuff, etc... 1 dollar = 2.5 R$ and etc..) so I can buy it alone without help from my bro and it's only gonna be mine.

Nintendo DS: 64-bit graphics, Wi-Fi, etc.. The DS is much greater than the GBA Micro but if I buy it, I'll need my bro's help and I'll end up having to share it with him since here in Brazil it's R$ 600,00 (for the same reasons as the GBA Micro).

Sony PSP: Totally the best, I love it's design, it's got DVD, better graphics and all but I'll need help from my bro, and I'll have to save up to at least 2-3 months to get money to buy it AND a game. So It'll cost me time and money. Here in Brazil it's over R$ 1200,00, quite expensive.

Please help me choose, They all have advantages and disadvantages... what do you guys think?

This is coming from someone who owned a PSP, I honestly don't like it one bit. First of all it doesn't play DVDs it plays UMDs which tend to cost more than the DVD version. Second of all it has horrible battery life, I could never play more than three hours on it. It is absolutly useless without a 1 gig memory card, you cant hold more than 3 songs, no movies and a game save on the one thats included so you have to buy that as well which fetchs a pretty hefty price.

Good Night!
Get a DS, and why are you willing to save up for a PSP but not for a DS? A DS has better battery life and D/P will come out for it so I don't think you want to miss that.

Get a Nintendo DS. Since you have 3 GBA's already it would be kinda pointless to get one more - also, the DS plays GBA games...

There are so many great games for Nintendo DS out now that you will be kept occupied. Also, it has long lasting Battery Life so you dont need to worry about it shutting off - it will turn Red when its time to charge it.

Don't waste money on a PSP - by the time you pay for all of the stuff you need for a PSP it will cost you alot more in the long run and that's just a waste of money.

Umm... the size of an MP3 has a lot to do with bitrate. A song with a 128 bitrate that is 3:30 long should only be around 4 MB or less. With just a 128 MB memory stick, that's 32 songs. Unless the memory stick actually limits the amount of MP3's you can have, you should be able to use certain software to change your songs to a lower bitrate so you can put more on it. Also, how many gamesaves do you have on it? Gamesaves take space too.

How's that an advantage? 450 divided by 2.5 = 180, 80 more than it costs in the US. I don't see how that is an advantage.

I'm all for the DS. It has the best list of upcoming games between all 3 of the consoles.

Thanx for the advice.. I kinda discarded the PSP already since I'd have to wait so much to get it but I'm still a little stucked between the DS and the Micro but I'm gonna explore the DS's advantages a bit more, and I know I already have 3 GBAs but I dunno I kind afell in love with the Micro when I saw it... thanx again!

I agree with the majority, get yourself a DS.

I own a PSP and I haven't touched it in months. I have a whole one game for it which is imported from Japan because there's simply no decent games out for it in this country, can't speak for what's out in Brazil though, but in England you're stumpped unless all you like is games revolving around cars and sports. You can get a Playstation 2 for less money than a PSP and play all the same games on it. I'm also very biased against the PSP because of their shoddy customer service, if your PSP has any dead pixels (which is likely) Sony does not class this as fault and will not refund/ replace your system unless the screen is 15% or more 'dead'.

The Micro is cute, but you already have plenty of GBA's so I wouldn't bother and if you get a DS you'll get another GBA player in that too!

So I would go with a DS. It has a huge variety of games, the touch screen is a fun and exciting bit of technology (as opposed to the PSP having little more than PS2 games in handheld form), the Wi-Fi feature is just starting to really take off now, so if you get online you'll have endless hours of fun. I haven't heard of many problems with the DS, but those I have heard of have been resolved with a quick replacement. It's also going to be a lot cheaper for you so you and I personally think you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of it than you would a PSP.

Additionally, the Micro is more comfortable to play than the GBASP, but I would have to say DS. I own all three and the DS wins out. I, for one, am sick of UMDs. I don't want to watch movies on a handheld when it is surely guaranteed to kill my battery and, besides, I want to buy a portable gaming console for just that, games.

Better then you
I agree with everyone else. Get a DS,it has really good graphics and it is gonna have the best portable games when they come out.Not to mention it all ready has some good games and it can go on the internet via the wi-fi connecter.

Still more than enough to fit 6 songs.

Like said, get the DS. Most games the PSP has are going on the PS2 (which you can get for cheap nowadays)or are owned by other consoles. The Micro is pointless if you can either fit the GBA's in your pockets or have other GBA's. DS games are cheap and play GBA games too. I'd get it.

guess whos back?
Get a DS. It is the best out ofd all three choices.

DS. Also DS has more then 64 bit graphics. 64-bits are where there are still 2-d, but put in a 3-d universe.
