Help me convince my friend that swords dance IS important

Spaces help. Show him Heracross and Charizard that know Sword Dance and the whip his butt! I use Absol with Swords dance and Baton Pass so that would work too

He's sorta right if the pokemon can't last two turns or enough to speed to attack then its useless its great ingame because most computer characters are dumb enough to keep it alive but against others it might be a challenge . Swords dance isn't good for every pokemon its even more benefits its has baton pass as well.

In-game it's useless unless you're at the BF or Orre Colosseum. But otherwise, it's wild. I had the same view as the general 'calm mind/swords dance' is a waste of move space until maybe over a year and a half ago when I saw Smogon. They describe why the heck you're doing what you're doing with certain moves-- it was enlightening! :O

S Dance+ Earthquake from an Adamant Groudon can OHKO alot of pokemon.

Pfft. Your friend is one of those idiots who thinks Hyper Beam is good, isn't he?

Here's what you should do. EV train a Physical Sweeper, like Heracross, and try and beat his ENTIRE team with only that Pokemon. He won't be laughing then.

it is such a key move to certain pokemon....i don't know how i could ever use my wonderful heracross or forretress without it! kick his but with a good physical sweeper!

One Swords dance multiplies your attack by 2. Two Mutiplies it by 3. Three by four....He'll like that....

I sent Lance to the freaken sea. With Marowaks Swords Dance+Rock Head+Doubel Edge/rock slide+Thick Club..

Well, convincing Swords Dance is important was easy for me, but my friends are mainly smart and understand duplicating the Pokémon's attack.

Now, proving Hyper Beam and 3 moves of the same attack suck, THAT'S a problem.

But I recommend you battle him and win with a lot of Swords Dances.

Make sure it's the RIGHT pokemon that knows sword dance, cause it only works for attacking physical moves.

I already owned him by pulling out my blaziken with SD and sweeping his team with just it. Now, i just have to teach him that hyper beam sux.

^ Show him that, and he'll be on his knees, begging for forgiveness. Or just kick him in the shin. Whatever works.

For Hyper beam, you can also try to give your Pokemon Protect, then use protect everytime you guess it will use Hyper Beam. Then own him with any powerful move when it's recharging.
