Help Me Get A Shiny Starter ?

OK Im sure this has been asked before but I couldnt find it. I want a shiny Mudkip. Does it show up as shiny when you go to choose it out of the bag? I mean in the little preview picture when you have to save Prof Elm? If not this is gonna take forever. i would appreciate the info from someone who went through all the motions to get a shiny starter and not used a GS like a cheap *******.

No, it won't. You must get in the battle with poochyena to see the shinyness or not. It took me a lot of tries to get my shiny Treecko, just be patient, you'll get one.

Edit: KillerKyogre 14: Its not EVERY 8120, its a 8120 chance, not every 8120 pokemon.

Yea Im aware. Thanks for the spam. Also do you have to start a new game over and over again or can i just save before I walk up to the bag?

You can save when you are right at the bag, I did that. It helped. Oh and were you telling me I SPAMed? Or that guy, I dunno.

Also: You know that Poochyena can be shiny too right? Well its not fun to restart lots of times only to see the shiny poochyena.
