Help Me Shut Down My Firewall

i have windows 2000, i dunno how to shut down my fire wall, i must know so i can host a netbattle server

Windows Firewall? It should be in the control panel somewhere.

No, you don't have to and you shouldn't shut off your firewall. Instead, open a port in your firewall that allows your Netbattle server to communicate with others.

Go to Control Panel >> Windows Firewall

Then find the tab labled "Exceptions" at the top of the firewall window. Click on it.

Next, click the "Add Port" button near the bottom. Name the port "Netbattle Server Port" and set the port number to 30000.

That should work. The button below the port number should be set to "TCP".

Thats the problem I search and search but I cant find windows firewall i have windows 2000. is that the problem i cant find anything that says firewall

I suppose a proxy would probably disallow traffic too, then.

Is it possible that you removed Windows Firewall? Or maybe didn't even have it in the first place (?)

I know I have the firewall, LimeWire detects it.
EDIT:I am using an Ethernet cable for this laptop. I found something that say local area connection 2 and i right clicked it should i disable it?

I also see something that says internet protocol TCP/IP should i take the checkmark off of it

Yeah, about that, I saw that and when i searched my files for something called console root I got crap that wasnt it and what is MMC. is it cause i am using a laptop
EDIT:I found console root, but when i click it, nothing happens
EDIT 2:I did everything but when i get to something, should i click permit, cause that URL u gave me just tells me blocking not letting NETBATTLE work.
