Help my DS L and R button don't work

I need help on that. I have noticed that my DS L and R don't work in Mario Kart before but it never really bothered me that much as I usually chose Dry bones and he has good handiling. But yesterday l bought Mario and Luigi Partners in time and then got to the part where you fight the Hammer Bros. after that they give a hammer and in order to continue you have to switch actions with the R button. So thats why I need The help I mean sometimes it works but it rarley does.

If you got your DS recently, you can probably exchange it for a new one. If not, I'd say to contact Nintendo about sending it in for repairs.

I got it on the release date... and I don't have any money to pay for a repair...do you think I sould clean it somehow?

The only thing you should do is borrow some money, or email nintendo about repairs to see how much it is. DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO IT!!!!!!!! (Like take it apart) Or you will lose the guanitee with NIntendo.

Then I'm sorry to say, but you are boned. Cleaning it won't exactly fix a handheld that isn't responding to the pressings of two buttons. It would have to be opened up and tinkered with. I highly suggest not doing it yourself as it voids the warantee.

I'm sorry to post this here, but I don't want to make another thread for the same basic thing. The D-pad on My DS sticks if you press it down or right. It is possible to play, but it has made things much harder, like when you need to get both Mario and Luigi to jump to the same platform in PiT. Should I do the same thing?

The R button on my DS likes to kinda stick and make a clicking noise when I play Mario Kart DS (ofcourse my DS is a year old though...) - all you can do is try to clean it with like a Q-Tip or call Nintendo and speak to a rep about getting it cleaned/fixed.

Contact nintendo, and they'll give you information on how to send/receive your DS to them. Since your warranty has passed, you'll have to pay for the repairs

Alright, you want a real suggestion? Unless it's been in a location you'd rather not put your mouth, Try blowing into the L/R Buttons. I've had the same problem with my GBA AND DS, and it'll probably work. Temporarily, at least. If not, well, Do what the majority says. Send it to Nintendo. =/

Thanks guys so I called and sent it in, now I just have to wait...2-3 weeks so I can play my nintendo ds again * My nintendogs are gonna hate me and so are my animal crossing villagers* but at least It will be nice and fixed I would rather wait and play perfectly and pull weeds than Having a game that I can't play. The guy was really nice since my warrenty *sp* was gone I would have to pay $75.00 but he reduced to $50 dollars. Thanks again Guys.

Uh, no. Nintendo's consoles don't have these kind of problems on launch, if ever. >_> When was the last time you heard of Nintendo's systems having a fault that messes up games or hardware nationally?
