The Light Ball is sometimes attached to Pikachu when it is caught.

You'll have to catch Pikachus in the Safari Zone 'till you find one with Lightball. Make sure you have a pokemon with the ability compundEyes(makes pokemon with hold items more common)as your leadpokemon and one with Static(makes electric pokemon more common) on your tream.

Get the light ball, but after you breed the pichu dont keep volt tackle, its not a good move for it.
Thunder bolt is enough.
Just an opinion.

while there's a thread talking about volt tackle, i'd like to take the opportunity to ask a question about it: if the male has 4 moves (for example, double team, return, rest, and hidden power) that pichu can learn, and the female is holding a light ball, which moves does the baby end up with?

I think double team (which is the first move of the father's moveset)
Never treid just a guess

I think it will have return, rest, HP and Volt Tackle. It's kinda logical, but I'm not sure/havent tried it.

The light ball is attached to pikachu in the safari zone, it of corse only has a 5% chance of holding one. to get a lightball the easy way is to have a pokemon with the abilitly static in emreald then put it first in your party and then find the loads of pikachus and check if they have light balls.

well i don't think anyone has ever tried it but the egg moves it learns goes basically in a line.... first on it are it's normal moves.... then if it gets more egg moves than spots for it to learn them in, the first move gets replaced, second, etc. so which one you have deleted will be dependent on the order they are on the pikachu and the pichu's starting moves.... just work the moves like a clock and volt tackle if i'm correct will be the last to be added.

I was fortunate to get a light ball when using ruby version. Volt Tackle is a good contest move when combined with charge in the cool contest as I gave Duking's plusle the light ball when breeding for a brave pichu (brave is a good nature for cool contest).

I found a pikachu once in my ruby version or sapphire version (can't remember) that had a light ball. I was so happy, but I think I lost that game pack. It's really rare is all I know. I just use male pikachus to get minun to learn thunderbolt with out having to but a tm24 from the game corner for 4000 coins so I can have other electric pokemon learn it too. But anyways, I never had a pichu with volt tackle. And does anyone else find pokemon emeralds match call really annoying because you have to wait for them to call you just to battle? I never get people to battle me and it's so much easier in firered and leafgreen to use the vs seeker. But that's my opinion.

Where does everyone keep getting these trainer cards? Where's the fan art section to make one yourself? I read the links that Phosphate posts when you're new and create your own thread, but I still don't know where to get one.

the baby will enhareit the fathers moves if it can
and then the move volt takle you can give the female the light ball
and give a ditto a ever stone and it will some times in herit the females nature
if you want it to

i wasted the time gettin the move volt tackle and it wasnt worth it...after u use it, it recoils and pikachu is weak so it takes his health down quite a bit...suxzorz...thunderbolt or thunder is a better bet!

Out of a crazy mind.
It's attached to wild Pikachus in the Safari Zone. They are VERY rare, it took me up to 3 boxes just to get one! Like FireHead Hank said keep a Pokemon with Compound Eyes in the lead and keep a Pokemon with Static on your party. But some Pikachus have Oran Berries.

Serious it only took 5-7 pikachus 4 me most of the others had oran berries I also make Pikachu with volt tackle hold the light ball 4 even more power

I once had a light ball in emerald and got a pichu with volt tackle but I started a new game which I now regret.
