This is how I described Deoxys for an RPG:
Something was standing, no floating, in front of him. In the shadows and flickering lights it was difficult to make out. Humanoid in shape, it was some kind of pokemon. It looked mostly red, with a green face and purely black eyes, two large ear like protrusions on the side of it's head. In the centre of it's chest was a stone of some kind, that glittered as the lights reflected off it. It's arms consisted of two intertwining tentacles one green, one red. They writhed about like snakes, but coiled together like the helix of a strand of DNA. It's legs petered to a sharp point, but never touched the floor as it hovered just a few inches above it.
The tentacles suddenly strained out, and merged together to form a set of human like arms and hands. It lowered and set itself down on the floor. Standing like a human it looked wrong, floating suited it better.
And in Defence Mode:
The pokemon had changed shape, now it looked rounder. It's arms had become longer, flatter. It's head was wider and rounder too, while it's entire body looked like it had gained several pounds in just a few seconds. it was curled up, as if shielding itself. Then, it uncurled, and melted back into the previous shape it had once been.
