Help with Pokemon Catching

I'm in the Safari Zone trying to catch a Chansey, and I was wondering what techniques to use. I did a search and couldn't find a straight answer anywhere.

Well, throwing a rock is supposed to help increase the catching ratio, but it makes them more susceptible to fleeing...And since Chansey is already really rare and flees easily, I wouldn't bother with a rock. It's a pain trying to catch Chanseys, since you can't battle them. I guess my only advice would be to chuck balls madly and pray. =D The thing with the Safari Zone is that it's all luck. ><;

there's no real strategy to it. I tried several ways and it still took me forever to get one. throwing rocks, throwing bait, throwing balls and any mix of em. If you feel it's goin to run, throw bait so it will be less likely, but that makes it harder to catch. If you feel it will stick around for a while, throw rocks so it will be more likely to stay in the ball.
