Help with Rayquaza for JAA

Misdreavus

used Perish Song!
I could use some opinions on my Rayquaza for JAA.

Rayquaza @ Choice Band
Trait: Air Lock
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aerial Ace
- Extremespeed
- Brick Break
- Dragon Claw

Should I try for a Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef) instead since I may be stuck using Claw and the only Special attack he really gets hit with is the OHKOing Ice Beam? I originally planned to use Protect over Dragon Claw (and not use CB, obviously) to keep him alive longer and to just use Snorlax vs. Kingdra, but I'm beginning to think the CB Claw to OHKO him is a better idea. What do you all think? Thanks in advance.

Master Breeder
rock slide and EQ instead of brick break and dragon claw, IMO.

Dump the Choice Band, and put Protect on it somewhere. There WILL be Kyorge & Mewtwo everywhere. And a few other things:

-CB does nothing to help Dragon Claw.
-You'll need way more Special Attack to OHKO a Kingdra with Dragon Claw, and you should just forget it on an Adamant one.
-You'll probably never see a Kingdra, and if you do, it'll suck.

Keep CB. Rayquazza's JAA pourpose is to kill, not stall.

Rayquazza @ Choice Band
EV's: 252 att/ spd. 6 HP
Adamant
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Aerial Ace
-Extremespeed

There will usually be Jynx, Persian, Sneasle and Smeargle everywhere. Jolly for a 50% chance to go first against Jynx's Fake Out to kill Smeargle with Extremespeed.

ignore above poster.

The only people who used smeargle were Obi and skarm.
And freaktron and Aeolus.
Ray @ Scope lens/Lum Berry (JAA's Item Clause)
Trait: Air Lock
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aerial Ace
- Extremespeed
- Ice Beam/Earthquake
- Protect
IB runs all over Groudon and opposing Rayquazas; it still hurts even with a -Nature, only because Rayquaza has a base 150 SA. EQ to hit Meta. ES to finish Smeargle/Weak but threatening fast pokes. Protect to check for ice Beams and avoid Explosions/Selfdestructs. AA for STAB and Ludicolo.
Rock Slide isn't gonna be that worth it seeing as Groudon is just about as common as Kyogre there.

PS. Are you in the finals?

IMO, Dragon Dance Rayquaza is the best.
No time to set up, really. Your best hope is to use follow me Clefable and then stat up, and Explosion/Selfdestruct is still a threat. Dragon Dance Rayquaza sucks in 1v1. Don't expect it to be better in 2v2

Thanks for the input. I'm just a little worried about using Earthquake on him with the CB since I only have one other Pokémon that is immune to it. I'll have to do some more thinking about whether I want to use CB or Protect. Any furthur advice on the matter is appreciated as always.

On another note, if I'm using EQ/RS or AP*/SD/Protect Groudon, would you suggest give him speed EVs? If not, should they go to HP/SDef? If you think I need Endure/Salac, just let me know. Sunlight is not critical to my team (no Shiftry/Eggy/etc.).

*I'm considering AP without the speed for flinch support on RS.
