Here's what I think Nintendo should do...

Hi. Well, I had an idea, and I highly doubt it'll ever get used, but it would be great if it did, IMO...

A lot of people are saying stuff like, "Oh, I don't want a remake! I want the old games! But the internal batteries will die, so I guess a remake is my only choice!"

I agree...

BUT what if Nintendo were to make a, well, "Pokemon Mega Collection" of sorts? It could have GSC and RBY. If they made it for GBA or DS, they could change it so that the internal battery wouldn't be as big of a problem. But it would still be the old games. I mean, FRLG is OK, but it's just not RBY. And if there was to be a DS remake of GSC, it would probably be the same way.

A remake would be cool, and it would be pretty neat to explore Johto with new plot twists and better graphics, but it could never replace the GSC I know...

Anyway, if this is spam, I'm sorry, but I don't really see how it would be any more spam-y than all those zillions of threads about a remake... anyway, would you guys like them to do that? Or would you prefer a remake? It's not like it's ever gonna happen(if it does, it'll probably be in like ten years, when the line is between "old" and "classic" is crossed), but then, a remake probably won't, either.

So... yeah.

Nothing of interest.
Hmm...I think there should be a remake, and in my dreams it would have an artwork gallery of the previous games...*sigh* a man can dream...Anyways that is a great idea. It should have harder gym leaders and extra features.

Meh... IMO, even if the only thing they changed was the graphics, I still would rather have the old GSC. This may sound silly, but GSC, Crystal especially, are all very special to me because I "grew up" with them. That's basically the biggest reason I still play them - to relive my early childhood. When I found out about the internal battery thing I actually cried, because once my games die, it's like my childhood dies, too. I know it sounds silly, but it's true.

So, yeah. Even the graphics are, in my opinion, an essential part of GSC's GSC-ness. And if they change them, it's not the GSC I know. But that's just my opinion.

Well in the past few years, I have been seeing quite a number of old games remade or resold with the same exact graphics. So it's possible that the same thing could happen with G/S/C.

But, since the graphics in Pokemon games have been getting more advanced lately, some people might go buy the games with the newer graphics than a Mega Collection with the old graphics.

If Nintendo did do something like this, I'd be sort of neutral with it. Don't get me wrong, I loved G/S/C and I thought the graphics were pretty cool, but I just think the newer games were just a bit better. Of course, I'd buy a Mega Collection in a heartbeat if the internal battery thing was fixed. :p However, I doubt they'll do this anytime soon.

And you're not the only one who cried about the internal battery dying. I cried also when my Silver's internal battery died, since I've grown so close to it.

I dont plan on getting DS but almost everyone has a GBA or GBSP so why not just make it better for those instead of jumping to DS? in my opinion that would kill it.

Well... I'm glad I'm not the only one. Sorry about your Silver, though. :(

That's true. I'd buy it for GBA. The thing is, I doubt they're gonna make many more games for it now that the DS is out with all it's stupid cool features like a microphone and a light. -sigh- The world and it's newness-obsession, eh?

G/S/C deserve a remake, why would these games be the only ones that don't have an advanced version? after all, they were the best Pok'emongames ever released

Pure

back.
I would love a GSC remake, but it very likely won't happen. ALthough it would be fair, considering everyone's internal battery is dying. (of course, I fixed my Silver's internal battery, so i'm good) GSC was the best generation, in my opinion, so by all means it deserves a DS remake.

It would be a great game if:
They use the artwork from the Advanced Generation
Throw Kanto out the game, or change it so it looks as good as in FR/LG. Kanto made me cry in G/S/C, so bad.
Instead of Kanto a new area, like Sevii in FR/LG.

That's it, then I would buy it ;)

ph334r me!...Please?
I'd love anything even remotedly related to Johto. I don't care if it's a "mega collection" thing, or a remake. If it's anything with GSC, then to me it's good ;D

What would be great is if they could tell the story of Red, the story of how he got to Mt Silver and all that other stuff. It would never happen, but it would be something interesting to see.

I'd honestly love to see that. I am still worried about my games internal battery dying and I get scared when I go check it. :X

I just say play the game anyway, with or without a dead battery. It's not that hard to find a copy of any of the three if your battery does die, and even if you can't find one, all you need is an AC adapter for your Game Boy to play through the entire Johto saga.

That wouldn't work too well for an RPG.

Imo they should make a G/S/C remake but exactly the same as the original G/S/C, just with better graphics
Why? Graphics do nothing. G/S/C's graphics were great anyway. They certainly don't look bad.

As if the new Pokemon games have excellent graphics...

That they were. And thus, I say they don't need a remake.

And as I keep saying, what happens when the GBA hardware gets old in a dozen years or so? Remake it again?

That would be interesting. We do know a bit though -- the old woman in Mount Silver's Pokemon Center says that trainers go there "with their trusted Pokemon in search of power..."

Cryptic, eh?

Yeah I get what you're saying and I feel the same too. Remakes don't give back the original feel you have.

Wat.
How about a game where you explore Johto, which has changed aftr the past seven years, Kanto, which has changed entirely after Ten years, and end your journey at the orange islands?

Does anyone know how to "Edit" games?

I know how you feel. And whenever I play Crystal, I get this weird feeling that I'm playing something I don't deserve to have... almost as if I'm meddling with an ancient artifact from a lost civilization or something. It's a strange feeling...

That would be a great idea! I'd love to see that, too. I can't edit games, though... you'd probaly need to take a computer programming class to do something like that, though. But I wouldn't know.

My thoughts exactly.

That would work for some people, but not me. I like taking my time beat games. I just can't enjoy it when I rush through the whole thing. Plus, I get really attatched to all my Pokemon, and what if there was a power outage? POOF - they're gone, and I'm sad. And I can't be the ONLY one who plays the game like this, can I?

Also, what if you only had one GameBoy? How would you play your other games?
