• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

HG/SS Slots/Game Corner in ALL English games changed

I get the strategy behind it, but I still often lose due to a situation in which there are two possibilities and guess the 50/50 wrong. I liked being able to buy coins because it was very fast and I always had more poke than I knew what to do with anyways.

Time to go get me a Porygon~♪
(And because I bought an Ice Beam TM a while ago, I've actually gotten 60,000)

Yeah, I'm not that great at Voltorb flip. I usually play late at night when my brain is FRIED, so making logical decisions doooooooesn't quite happen.

How many coins does one get per game on average?

This totally depends on what level you are on. Level One doesn't usually go past 32 coins, but I can't remember any further than that, sorry. I got over 400 coins in one of the higher levels.

I personally think replacing the slot machines with Voltorb Flip is great. Voltorb Flip is really fun once you get the hang of it. I have reached level 7 which I was very proud of myself for. It's better than the slots because that was purely chance but now there is a strategy element involved it is really fun. You probably win coins faster than in the slots, although it is a shame you can't buy the coins now.

However, I have only been playing for a few days and have already gathered over 6000 coins which isn't too shabby.

6,000 coins in a few days is actually very slow. With Slots (and by extension buying coins) I can get 6,000 coins in about a minute. In DPPt it's very easy to get the money for those coins if you know who to battle.

Is that so? Wonder how you do it since the slots have a pretty low payout rate. And although you can usually just buy coins in other games, where's the fun in that? At least the Flip game provides a challenge. I'm getting better at it myself, getting several hundred coins each time I play without doing much but using simple logic and flipping tiles :)

I only do it by buying coins. :p The best I've done in actual slots was from 20 coins to 2372 coins in 22 minutes.

I guess my main point is that I can't buy coins in HGSS, forcing me to get the TMs I want from DPPt or even a Gen 3 game, as that will be a lot quicker than playing Voltorb Flip.

Dragonfree beat me to making a cool guide. 'Course, hers is better than mine would have been. :p

At level 7, you get 1296 coins per game; at least, that's what I remember. It almost gets easier on the last levels because there are so many Voltorb figuring out where the higher numbers are gets easier.

And I think you CAN get to level 8, but I don't really know how to do it.

Voltorb Flip is actually pretty addictive once you get going, though it is frustrating when you've collected a lot coins, only to turn over a Voltorb card. Still, it's an improvement on the "picking up dropped change" thing we got in Platinum.

i absolutely HATE voltorb flip! (don't bash me for this), but it's so nice of europe to take us all down with them:(

I love the voltorb flip, though I wish they left the slots in as well...

I've found it actually doesnt come down to luc kthat often, logic will usually past most of the levels for me. A tip - never quit the game to save coins, you're much better off losing those coins but staying on the same level, assuming you're on level 4 or above.

But I agree, coins are much easier to get this time around. I dreaded playing slots till I got enough coins for a dratini, but it was really easy with the voltorb flip.
