well since GF let pokemon have Hidden abilitys then why not let pokemon have a hidden type as well..... and get it from the dreamworld also

for example: Charizard is FIRE/FLYING go to the dream world and he can get his hidden type which would/could be FIRE/DRAGON.

i mean not all pokemon would have a hidden type jus like not all pokemon have a hidden ability.

GF should do this or somthing like this

i mean ik only a good select few of pokemon would be able to do that....but its those pokemon that can.....

Because typing directly and inherently affects a battle by affecting the basest component of a battle, that being the attacks. You can't alter that arbitrarily and invisibly.

Certain abilities have that potential but they do not as a whole inherently alter a battle in and of themselves to the same degree.

No. Just no. Most Pokemon, by design, are very indicative of their types, to the point where most wouldn't have any type-changes that would make sense. This would apply to so few Pokemon that it's not worth it at all, whereas the vast majority of Pokemon have hidden abilities.

Not to mention, "Why not" is not a good justification for this.

well when i said hidden type it ment to those few pokemon who should have that "hidden ability"

That doesn't help the case any. Why bother instituting something like that for only a select few out of what is soon to be 750-800 creatures? Particularly when there are already Pokémon who have Abilities or alternate formes that allow them to exist as a different type than their "base" version.

I think this is such an interesting idea, but hidden type should be applied only for some Pokemons, because some aren't necessary.

Hidden type could be a way to fix the dual type of Pokemons that actually should be triple type, like Charizard Fire/Flying/Dragon and Flygon Ground/Dragon/Flying, for example.

Yeah, and why not HIDDEN NAMES TOO

Like you get a Charizard and then theres a special dream world unlockable that allows you to call it Mickey-taker instead.

Ze DreamGirl

Future Vaporeon
Or Gyarados Dragon/Water or Gligar Poison/Flying Ground/Poison or Poison/ground (with Levitate)

yeah Gyarados would be way Better if you got a hidden ability Water/Dragon and he be stronger (not like he really needs it) But he would become Borderline legendary with those stats if he gained Dragon as his Hidden ability

Future Vaporeon
All those bug types with wings should have levitate as an hidden ability when they're not flying types...

there are alot of bugs in the world that have wings but dont use them (very rarely) like Cockroaches
so they are on the ground Crawling

So this is basically turning into a "I think this Pokemon should be this type instead" thread...

They already have a mechanic that does almost exactly this: form changes. If Game Freak wanted to change a Pokemon's typing while still retaining a version with the original typing, they'd just make a new form.

Also do you honestly think the game and character designers are going to say, "Well some of the fans want specific Pokemon to have different typings than they currently have, so we'll implement the ability to retcon our original choices just for them."? The creators are probably happy with their type choices, hence the reason these typings currently exist.

The only and probably the biggest problem on hidden type is that it would add a feature that would make the multiplicative factor become more complicated to be calculated.

No, as the autor said, the hidden type would be a third type. It can be a type it matches its appearance or just a type to annul a weakness or gain an immunity.

And that's exactly why 'hidden' types would be an unwise idea, it completely changes the game. Besides, most of the types you want, there are pokemon with them already.

This pretty much would just be an excuse for wanting certain pokemon to be types that they arent. Their types are like their species. Abilities are just abilite.
