It has 10 fingers and 6 toes. I wonder if the artists noticed this...

I think it looks weird because it has fire coming out of its ***. And the hair on top of his head kinda looks like poop. But to each his own.

It dosen't really matter, because we'll hardly ever notice that.

Uhh... of course they noticed the designs on that cute little fella just as they do on the 386+ others. Every detail you see on a Pokemon was put there by drawing it on. I'm sure they intently put it on.

A few pokemon have that design. The thing that's wrong with that monkey is the fire on it's arse and why it's hand is there.

Although it isn't anatomicaly correct!

Dude, we've got horses with FIRE for manes, creatures shaped like letters, and girrafe with a head on its tail. 'Anatomicaly correct' does not apply here.

If there really was a problem more people would notice and care...so he's fine the way he is..I mean picture him with 10 toes does he look any better?

IMO, the monkey looks fine, and I wish people would stop complaining about it. If anything, the penguin has an oversized head. If you don't like the monkey, then stop focusing so much energy on it and when it comes time, just don't pick it. I rather like monkeys and since it is a MONKEY at this stage, and not an ape, I think the fire is meant to be it's TAIL, as monkey's have tails, whereas apes do not.

I did find the number of digits odd as well, but I do see a good reason.

It's considered taboo in Japanese culture to have less then five fingers (something associated with butcherers, since they tend to lose fingers when using cleavers) So if a Japanese cartoon has visable hands, they're either shown as nubs if they're chibis, or a full five-fingered hand. Monkeys also fall under this rule, hence why Hikozaru has five-fingered hands.

The reason why he has 3 toes on each foot is that it's a part of pokemon design, if you look carefully enough, every pokemon has no more then 4 toes. (if it has a foot) with paws, the number's only three, and most only have 2.
