I am sure that everybody here knows that previous games forget your grandest of achievements with mechanical alacrity, save for your Elite Four records. Which swiftly brings me to my point: Ought the games maintain your significant achievements, keeping them onboard and altering people's reactions based on your progress? I would like to see some headway made into this enterprise recognizing that the DS carts can hold a fair amount more data than their comparable predecessors.

it would actually be interesting to see other trainers start to know who you are and stuff. i think they do respond in the pokemon trainer fan club, but it seems like the only other people who repond are the evil teams. its kind of wierd

you amaze me.
That's a really good idea, I could see it happening. You get back to your hometown and it could be like the episode from one of the Advanced Generation where May and Max go back home and a mob of ppl are coming after them, I think that would be rather spiffy..

i believe there should be some kinf of good/evil thing. Like throughout the game you either help like the Pokemon G-Men or team rocket...or whatever. And slowly you become good or evil. And then people will fear you whn you talk to them, or respect you. Then you should be able to get missions from whoever you joined. example.

Good side.
You must stop poachers from stealing Larvitar eggs in the safari zone.

Bad side.
You must help Your team members steal Larvitar eggs by fending off the G-men

I'd only see that happening if it happens to be a part of the plot

and technically, people already do remember when you beat the E4, because the members of the club houses in Lilycove and Saffron acknowledge you after you beat the E4...

however, it would be pretty interesting if as part of the plot, you battle a trainer (possibly a Lass) very early in the game. (her sprite is different from the regular Lass sprite though.) Later in the game, you beat someone or do something very incredible, and this seemingly insignificant NPC becomes another rival character of yours...

I always thought it was kinda funny how becoming the champion always went pretty much unnoticed among the npcs, yet in Pokemon Emerald you will constantly get calls from trainers commenting on your progress in the Battle Frontier.

Anyway, yeah, it'd be nice for some kind of significant changes after you beat the Elite 4, like people acknowledging you as the champion, maybe even have one rabid fan following you around and challenging you to battle every now and then. In other words maybe get a new rival after beating the Elite 4, who's goal is to beat you. Or maybe those npcs that walk around randomly in towns suddenly seem to be very shy around you and try to avoid you.

And maybe some sort of reaction from seeing you use a legendary pokemon in battle, or maybe recognition for saving the world. I mean I'm sure if you sent out a Groudon to attack some poor guy's Rattata he's going to go crying to his mommy and anyone who witnessed it will probably be going into therapy for a while, and it'd be plastered all over the news...

"This just in! The new Pokemon Champion has been reportedly seen using the legendary pokemon known as Groudon in battle!"

...Yeah I think I'm done here >.>

Yes Ez I have been pondering about this idea myself. I think it would be cool to record your achievements much like you did in the frontier when the person in the counter would ask you "if you wanted to record your battle"
