As you all already know, now that Diamond and Pearl have separated attacks into Physical, Special, and Other categories, certain moves that Pokémon could learn will now be more or less effective with those particular Pokés. Anyway, now that the elemental punches (Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunderpunch) are considered to be Physical attacks instead of Special, this means that Hitmonchan will be a lot more useful than he used to be.

As you all probably remember, Hitmonchan is one of the only Pokés who could learn all three of the elemental punches naturally, but he could never make use of them that well because of his low Sp. Attack score (max 185). Now with the changes to Diamond and Pearl, the punches will rely on his significantly higher (albeit not superb) Attack score (max 339).

So who's going to actually use Hitmonchan when they port him over to Diamond and Pearl? I know I am. =D

I don't like trading over my own Pokémon to another one of my games, so no.

It would be nice if Hitmonchan was actually any good now, but we still have Salamence running amok, so, no. :(

Okay, i just realized that a much cooler Pokémon in DP, Regigigas, can also have all three elemental punches at its disposal.....and it has a max attack of 460. O_O

I need to buy Emerald and get me some frigging Regis. =P

Not to mention it has good defenses. Sadly, it's ability and lack of stall/recovery moves stink.

And Hitmonchan has indeed gotten quite an improvement. Who knows, maybe I will transfer it.

Yeah. I'll use him. I have always liked Hitmonchan, since I grew one to lvl 100 in crystal, while teaching him only special attacks. Thank god he can actually use his punches now.
