Time for me to try and take a stab at it
May is sick, how would Brendan try to make her fell better or vice versa
Uhhhhh,
May would make Brendan take care of her because he is professor Birch's son, so she assumes that he knows about getting sick and getting better or something along the lines of that.
May would take care of Brendan because Brendan's dad is too busy to do so himself, So May decides to take the "job" herself
This has potential for me to make a drabble of it, but i'm too lazy to think of a whole drabble for it

As for Brendan, he will have Wally and Wallace, his fellow forgotten trainers in the anime
