Hogwarts’ secret
One more secret remains at Hogwarts!
(Since no seemed intrested in ghostbusters, let's try this!)
It’s been nearly half a century since the epic final battle with Voldermort at Hogwarts in which many brave souls gave their lives to protect our magical world and much of the castle was destroyed. Many have suggested that the battle truly began the night young Harry first set foot in Hogwarts, a castle has has, since Harry’s first year, given up many of its secrets.
One of Harry’s friends, as you may well be aware, never left, despite having graduated. Professor Neville Longbottom, has for many years been the instructor of Herbology here at Hogwarts. Under his skilled direction, though most of his lectures go off on tangents from which they never return, many students have blossomed into enthusiastic magical botanists, while others have learned the value of using natural ingredients when making stink bombs. Though nothing particularly significant has occurred here since his seventh year at, aside from that incident with the jellyfish which most of the staff are still trying to forget, he still feels that Hogwarts Castle has many secrets left to discover. That is why, as of late, he had taken to stalking what remained of the school’s few original corridors during the nights and class breaks. He calls these outings his Historical Adventures and occasionally is accompanied by other staff members or older students who have gotten permission to stay out past curfew from their house heads.
Two weeks ago he left his office for one of his nightly adventures, he was alone this particular time and never returned. At first the staff wasn’t very concerned, Professor Longbottom had frequently disappeared before, usually only to return a couple of days later with some excuse about having forgotten he was supposed to be teaching. His memory seems to have gotten worse with age, so nobody had really questioned it before. Once he even claimed that he was looking for toad named Trevor, only to remember it’d died years ago. But when he didn’t turn up by the end of the week however, they started to worry. There was some indication that he might have returned to the room of requirement, or perhaps gone to visit a place outside the castle which held similar happy memories. Several students, staff, and even past members of Dumbledore’s Army have attempted to visit one of the room of requirement’s many forms, but none of those who actually succeeded in making the room appear found Neville. Nor did he show up on any enchanted map when checked. By the beginning of the second week the Headmistress was starting to get impatient, and so she attempted to contact Professor Longbottom by owl. By Thursday night the owl had not returned, and many assumed it had managed to locate Neville, but like him had not managed to locate a return route.
So that was it, something had to be done to find the missing Professor. So the Headmistress had two search teams of concerned Staff, Friends, and Students assembled in order to try and determine his whereabouts. The first team would attempt to search the castle top to bottom until Professor Longbottom could be found. The second team would attempt to follow other leads outside the castle just in case he’d really wandered off-grounds this time. (In case of extra players, additional teams may be formed and the search areas will be broken down.)

___
My Characters:
Name: Dike
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Species: House Elf
Occupation: Hogwarts kitchen staff
Appearance: Dike has a look typical of many house elves. He is short, but thin with long bony fingers and toes. His large bat-like ears, over-sized brown eyes, and long nose, which all barely seen to fit on his round head. His hair is just a few wisps of fluffy brown, almost the same shade as his eyes. Around his waist is the typical blue Hogwarts towel.
Personality: Dike is, like most House Elves, rather obedient. But this doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have any thoughts or opinions of his own. He does not have a lot of faith in others’ plans and so while he’ll do almost anything a Staff member or Student asks him to, he will verbally point out the inevitable failure of their endeavors. Also while his is rather skilled at it, Dike would much rather be doing anything but kitchen work. He also has an oddly adventuress streak for a house elf. So when the Headmistress came to the kitchens looking for a House Elf willing to join the search team, because they could fit into smaller spaces, he happily signed up.
History: Dike was born at Hogwarts and has spent his life serving those that work and attend classes there. That is after he was old enough to actually help rather than hinder his fellow house elves. At a fairly young age his aptitude for cooking was recognized. At first he didn’t mind, because the kitchen was warmer and less labor intensive than many of the jobs Hogwart’s House Elves do. But over the years cooking has become a tedious and boring task for Dike, and his distaste for it was growing every day. Cooking large quantities of food in a boiling hot kitchen, for young witches and wizards, who never visit, never say thanks, and never seem to stop eating! He wanted something more, better, although he really wasn’t sure what. He was still satisfied with serving witches, he just didn’t want to serve them food anymore. One afternoon while the kitchen staff was busy preparing that night’s feast, the headmistress came to them in apparent distress. One of the School’s Professor’s was missing, and she wanted a house elf to help search. Dike leap away from the vast vat of mash potatoes he preparing, finally an opening out of this trap, he bowed for her “Madame, I would be honored to assist you.” She accepted this and allowed him to join one of the search teams, under the condition that he would follow the direction of the other team members of course.

Name: Rave-Anna Deadwood
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Species: Human witch
Occupation: Potions Professor
Appearance: Rave has long silky black hair which she generally keeps in a tight bun so that it doesn’t get in the way of potion brewing. Underneath this tight hairdo she has an oval shaped face with a small nose and sparkling green eyes. Her ears are also a tad on the small side. As for her body she is around average height and while not fat, she’s not particularly skinny. Rave’s favorite robes have elbow length sleeves and are a vivid shade of green; she accents these with a black sash and black high-heeled leather boots. In her robe’s pocket, next to her wand, she keeps a pair of dragon skin gloves for use in handling dangerous ingredients.
Personality: Rave’s personality is fairly upbeat. Her occupation forces her to keep a pretty up-tight looking image with the bun and all, but underneath this she’s really a fun person to be around. She likes to joke and make her students laugh, and even treat them to the occasional game or free-day. But she’d never allow her good sense of humor to interfere with student safety and can become strict when necessary. While somewhat spontaneous in nature, Rave always tries to be prepared for anything. For this reason she always has her dragon skin gloves and wand on her.
History: Rave’s father was a wizard and her mother was a muggle, unaware of her husband’s magic until after the baby’s birth. The fact is her father, having gotten into a bit trouble, was attempting to hide from the magical community and therefore wasn’t using any magic. About the time his daughter turned three, however, his wife starting acting strangely. Having confronted her on this, he discovered his daughter was showing magical powers and it was scaring his wife. So he sat her down and calmly explained things, she took it pretty well.
When Rave turned 11 she was sent off to Hogwarts where she made a ton of friends and developed a strong interest in potions. After school she went off to study potions abroad with a Chinese potion master. Afterwards she made her way back to England where she found a job as a cleaning potion salesperson. This job wasn’t particularly satisfying, and she soon left it for another equally boring job. Eventually she made her was back to Hogwarts as the new Potions Professor.
