Homosexuality & Politics in the 21st Century

And this happened because of Fox News and their reports of war on religion, Christmas, and military all because of repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell. Not to mention lack of coverage in anti-LGBT hate crimes and murders in the US and other nations like Uganda because they keep having people of Family Research Council and the like on the show more often. The only way they'll get it is if their viewers which happens to be the average age of 65 die off because according to this poll, 61 percent of young conservatives are okay with same-sex marriage. If that's the case, then they are REALLY that out of touch.

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2014/03/10/61-of-young-republicans-favor-same-sex-marriage/

And about the Arizona-like anti-gay bills, I wouldn't count them out yet as there are Mississippi Republicans attempting to pass that. The reason why Arizona's was stopped was because of business interests and apparently only Republicans speak moolah. I mean, why do you think they defended the Koch Brothers?

A term-limited governor is retiring? This changes everything!

Read it closer:

The Arizona Constitution limits governors to two terms, but the Republican governor and her advisers have kept alive a scenario in which she might mount a longshot legal challenge to seek another four years in office.

Given the fact that Republicans love to challenge, bend, and at times, break the laws, this is indeed good news.

Ben Carson at CPAC exclaims that gay people shouldn't get extra rights. Doesn't this remind you of anything?

Also music artist Sia is NOT pleased with Sarah Palin using her song Titanium while praising anti-gay Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson. Especially since Sia is bisexual, liberal vegetarian, animal rights advocate, and pro-LGBT so... yeah.

Shame, Ben Carson recently gave a talk here at Michigan that my lab and I all attended. Brilliant physician and surgeon. It's too bad he thinks that way, but it could be misreporting by the media.

As for Palin, what do you expect? They like the art but don't like the artists behind them.

Hello again, everyone.

As much as I wish I could say this issue has gotten better, it's gotten worse:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/19/susanne-atanus-congress-_n_4993555.html?ir=Politics

I suppose I should be used to them making dumb claims by now, but come ON.

Silver: About a year ago, some people were comparing Putin to Rev. King.

Then he threw two rock stars in prison for a protest because he thought they, of all people, were a threat to him. (Causing international outrage, making people call him a dictator, which only made it worse for him.)

Then someone in his government tried to sue Madonna for promoting gay rights in a lawsuit where the prosecutor almost made Orly Taitz look competent.

And now, after spending years preparing for the Olympics to improve Russia's PR, he's blown it in about a week by annexing Crimea.

If you want my opinion, Putin's legacy will be that of the man who did his best to restart the Cold War.

Right, sure.

People will listen to a guy who is currently on trial for crimes against humanity more than they will to Phelps.

And as for Fischer? He's a joke candidate. The very idea that a guy like him could win in Massachusetts...

BJ, listen and listen well.

Some say we should gloat. Some say we should picket HIS funeral.

But just as many others are saying we shouldn't sink to his level and prove that we're better than him. They quote the parts of the Bible that Fred ignored, like "Forgive them for they know not what they do", and "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone", and "To err is human, to forgive divine".

I know it's hard, given all he's done, and all the pain he's caused...

Maybe the best solution would be to forgive, but pledge never to forget. Never forget this man and the things he did.

Because Heavens forbid, if his acts were ever forgotten, someone else might take his place.

On another note, I'd like you to read this too:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/20/lesbian-stoning-anti-gay-church_n_5000239.html

Seems these "churches" can talk tough when they say that gays deserve to be stoned, but they're too chicken to actually do it. These hate groups are nothing but talk when it comes down to it.

Fair enough. Don't forget the actions but forget the man. What he did and what he stood for is relevant, the man himself is not and should be wiped from the pages of history.

Know what the best part is? The Republicans have no-one but themselves to blame. This judge was nominated by Ron.

But but, he's an activist judge! Just like the other judges recommended by the Republicans of their states. Seriously, the GOP are Constitution lovers when it is only for a old, white, Protestant male or the superior people known as the Corporations.

Well already same-sex marriages ceremonies have begun in Michigan. Obviously it's going to be appealed (unsuccessfully hopefully) but this is an encouraging sign for now.

Maybe. But seeing as in this case, Judge Friedman decided to grant an actual trial to decide the issue, appeal the decision is going to be even harder than usual.

And I do not believe even one appeal attempt by the anti-gay marriage crowd has been successful. They will keep trying and failing until the Supreme Court is finally pushed into making a ruling for the whole country, which due to their own ruling (and Scalia's big mouth) will clearly be in favor of the gay community.

At which point the fools like Bachmann and Santorum will make more pseudo sermons about how we've "doomed" our country by neglecting "traditional marriage" that no-one will listen to.

Edit: See this:

NOT buying it, Willie.
