It serves absolutely no purpose in the main game in Fire Red and Leaf Green, kinda like Pacifidlog in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. :p

In the original games, Red and Green, the hotel was there in Celadon. Since Fire Red and Leaf Green are reamkes of Red and Green, every feature was remade and revamped, even the useless Celadon Hotel and the Mew Truck.

Don't worry about it too much, it's just there, but serves no purpose. :p

I don't know... I guess it was just some sort of display to fill in Celadon City... I don't really know why it's there, but it'd be cool if you could be able to go up the stairs, right? (you could see stairs behind the counter!)

Pacifdlog did serve a purpose, you could find out whether or not you had the right pokemon for Mirage Island to appear.

But this thread isn't about Pacifidlog, now is it? :p

The Celadon Hotel... It's just there, because it's there. It may have no real purpose, unless you open up the cartridge and tinker with the Internal Battery to create a liquid glitch that allows you to enter the second floor of the hotel.

Freeze Knight

super cuno
The Celadon Hotel supposed to be a Pokemon Center back in R/B/Y... but the designers took it out... this explains the invisible PC...

But since FR/LG are remakes they didn't remove it...

Yeah, wrong building bud. You're thinking about the Celadon Mansion (where you can meet the "game producers"), same for the tea lady, she's in the Celadon Mansion as well.

It has no purpose but to create realism and to replace a discarded Pokecenter from the original game.

It's a needless extra which is there for realism, just like the restaurant and a number of other buildings.

In the original R/G/B/Y, it looked exactly like a Pokémon Center when you walked in, so it was a sort of joke to foil people who got lost in Celadon. (as I did many times in the original games) The Ghost PC (only in R/G/B/Y, not FR/LG) was a bug which arose from them using the Pokémon Center template for the hotel and not removing the PC's trigger.

I do wish they put the Ghost PC into FR/LG as a bit of an ode to the originals. It could be made all ghost-ish and stuff, like Strong Bad's Tandy 400 after it broke. Sadly, GF likes to pretend that glitches never existed.

If it's like SB's Tandy, why is there no Lappy in the corner now? ;)

Anyways, don't get your hopes up about the stairs, either, I've tried going up their, and theres nothing.

Yup, it's just there to be there. It serves no purpose at all. Just like the restaurant and the house with the rockets in it and the houses that can't be entered.
