...wait they were pre-teens? In my mind, Clemont was 14-15, Tierno and Trevor were 14, Ash and Serena were 13, Korrina was 19-20, and I’m not sure about the other characters you mentioned.

Yeah, other than maybe Korrina, I'm pretty sure all were meant to be 10 for obvious reasons.

Also, I could also add to that by saying that Brock and Cilan act more like adults than 15-year-olds...
(Yes, that is, at least, Brock's official age, and we could probably guess that that is Cilan's age because of that)
