Yes, there are animals in the Pokemon World but the main focus is really on the Pokemon. Like mentioned there have been normal animals spotted in the anime as well. And I agree with Dragon Pokemon Trainer, some pokemon have been hunted for food. Although I thought there were more than just Farfetch'd and Lapras. Or are they the only ones?

Oh, yeah, in the animé, when Ash caught Krabby and it was sent to Prof. oak, he was worried that he would eat it. And in one of the St. Anne episodes, they tried to eat a Magikarp.

Animals do exist in the Pokemon world, and humans DO eat Pokemon.
There was one episode where Ash was eating a cooked Magikarp on stick I forget which one it was, but it was an old one. On Blissey's Pokedex it also says that it has delicious and healthy eggs, so I'm sure humans have eaten much more than that.

this makes me wonder. in the pokemon world why are humans the dominant species when there are pokemon who are smarter, stronger, and all around better than they are? examples are Dragonite, Alakazam, Metagross, and others. can't you smell some human burgers. mmm good!

Humans have an invention called the pokeball. Besides that, pokemon are like animals that are tamed by humans. They aren't smart enough to attempt a massive takeover. Those pokemon that are smart (mainly psychic types) know that killing all humans isn't the answer.

Theres normal animals in the world of pokemon, its just they arnt the main focus of the show and games so they get a minoritie role,
