How do I find Latias?

i'm trying to find a better way of catching latias on the sapphire version than running around to every single blade of grass. some guy said that if you use the acro bike and make it do bunny hops in place by putting something on the b button to hold it down (while using max repel) after a while latias will appear there? would that work? what would?

The best way to look for Lati@s is don´t looking for them, they´ll appear when you don´t want, believe me.

Don´t look for it.

Let´s say you are looking for the controller of the TV, but you don´t find it. Then in another day, you´re looking for your cellular, you´ll find the controller you were looking before, in a moment you don´t need it, but you still don´t find your cellular. Then in another day you lost your pants (lol) you´ll look for it everywhere, you find anything, just a cellular in a moment you don´t need it... etc.

That always work for me (games or real life), it´s strange, but works. I found Latias in both games without looking for them. They´ll appear in the right moment.

EDIT: Your cellular was turned off then you couldn´t call for it... just to avoid those messages "wouldn´t be easier call for it".

As Volteon stated, NOT looking for Lati@s is a good way of finding them. But there's also another technique that works rather well. Go to any random place where wild Pokémon appear, like a grassy area or the ocean, and stay in that one spot. Run around that single area until you encounter four or five wild Pokémon, and if Lati@s isn't among the Pokémon you run into, save your game, soft reset, and wander around the area again. Repeat this until you find Lati@s; I tried it myself, and it really does work.

Just walk around a little; you're not gonna find it in one solitary spot. Once you do, use your Master Ball! I've completely forgot what happens when you use Wobbafett...

...

Oh, and one more thing;

DON'T TRY TO CHASE IT. That there's pretty much the stupidest thing you'll ever do. You see, once you enter onto a different route, or exit or enter a building, the location of Latias will change. Just keep your Master Ball with you at all times, and be careful when you try to catch other Pokemon, not to use your Master Ball. Oh, and save after you catch it. You wont want to forget that one.

it is completly random where you find it but my advice would be not to look for it so just like train your pokemon in the grass and just hope that you will find it.

It's random. It has nothing to do with "not looking for it." It's just completely random. For me, I found both Latios and Latias to the west of Lilycove City, and caught them both on the water east of Mauville City. Weird.
