How do I work this glitch?

I heard that you can take a mission where if you have to go to lets say... F99 of somewhere, you can use escape orb in there and the game will think that you saved that pokemon. How do you do it?

PS The dungon I'm trying is a dungon that has story mode on it.

That's what I think too. The person probably got a mission where you find an item, s/he probably found the item without knowing and got out of the dungeon.
