how do u get to mirage island

i read the mirage island part in the serebi game mechanics. it says that a specific number. is it the ot.number or just another number. if so how many digits or chances of getting the number.

If you look closely at that mirage island section you just read, it says the gender value, which can range from something from 0 to around 300. gender value 0 is a genderless pokemon. basically, get a lot of pokemon from you boxes and have them in your party, hoping the old man says he can see mirage island.
EDIT: sorry, it wasn't the game mechanics sections that had this information, i think it was the mirage island section in emerald.

In reality, Mirage Island's appearance basically comes down to luck.

i think that each day, mirage island will get a five-cifred number(like, 34856), then each time you put a pokemon into the box, that id nr. will be saved. then, when the ID of one of your pokemon u put into the box matches the number of mirage isle, and you go to the old man and talk to him, he will say that it is visible. for example, if the mirage nr. is 34856, and you put a pokemon into the box with that ID, it will be visible. basically, i agree with you, Quillz, i really takes LOADS of luck to get there. and it makes it even harder because yhe number always is unknown - you can only hope that u will be lucky (even though it's hard, it's still worth trying - to think, liechi berry can only be found there!).

Nope- the Pokemon has to be with you in your party when you go talk to the Island Watcher.

so 1 of mi friends (the same that found the lugia in mirage island) found mirage island when he restarted the emerald version and he pased it in 2 hour
he found it when he go to find rayquaza. so it is luck

In my opinion it really difficult I been going there for a year(or more) and never seen Mirage Is. Can someone show me how it looks like. all I know there is a Lechi berry and I dont know what a Lechi berry does.and how did your friend find a LUGIA on mirage island. Stop lying please i am asking nicely.

liechi berrie raises attack when HP is lower than 1/4. and to see mirage I, you just need luck and patience. and you can just see wynauts there (and shining ones if you´re toooooooo lucky) no other than wynauts, no more, nada mais.

I've had Ruby/Sapphire for a couple of years and still no luck on finding Mirage Island. And, zorcmaster and Dark Venusaur, there's no Lugia on the Mirage Island, there's only Wynaut (as Volteon said) on Mirage Island.
