How Do You Feel If Misty Joins In Contest?

I mean if she doesn't wanna be a Gymleader anymore and she's really interested in Contest. How do you think if she does it?

It depends on how they handle it I suppose. I wouldn't like it if they just pulled her interest in contests out of the blue to use it as an excuse to kick Haruka off the show for example.
If they had Misty travel seperately from the group and have her show up from time to time however, I wouldn't be too bothered. Might even get that Misty vs. Haruka match that everyone has been hankering to see all this time. But with Haruka currently having two rivals already, it might be pushing it too far. Unless of course Shuu or Harley were to be dumped off, but who wants that to happen, amirite?

...bah, let her stay at the gym. Putting her into contests would just cause arguments.

I don't recall Misty ever expressing an interest in contests, but I guess she seems the type of person who might like them. I don't see her taking over May's role in the show, though - what would be the point? (Not that it wouldn't be fun to watch the Misty-bashers/May-worshippers pitch a fit.)

I know some people think Misty would be a no-brainer for a Contest, but it really does clash with her personality. Can you honestly imagine Misty saying, "I'm going to be a Top Coordinator!" over and over again?

(Mainly because I want to see May have a victory over both veteran main characters of the show, just so I have a piece of canon evidence to say that May has "surpassed" Misty in battling skill) Yes I am a b*stard.

But no, I wouldn't want to see her become a real rival for May. Just like I don't want to see Brock entering any more Contests, for a one-shot yes, as a major rival...no.

if they pull it of in a meaningful way without barging into May's territory, then I don't see why it can't happen... Although it's still pretty slim chance it can actually happen.

Misty's goal is to be a top water pokemon master, which is basically almost the same goal Ash has, it would be rather unoriginal or even unfair to Misty and May if she decided to become a top water pokemon co-ordinator, since it's almost the same goal May has.

Do we really *need* for Misty to enter a Contest? No. She's got her own goals, life and personality. (Well, what's left of it.)

Did we really *need* for Brock to enter a Contest? Yes. He's got a goal, but never does anything about it, he has no life other than following Ash and his personality and fading away. Not to mention, he never does anything anymore. At least Misty does stuff in the Gym, hang with with Tracey D) and whatever.

C'mon writers, it's not that hard to bring these characters back! This is starting to get very nerve wrecking, knowing all these other Coordinators are too weak to even get 5 ribbons for the Grand Festival. Shame, shame.

We all explain this to every n00b that comes to this site. Misty's character is gone now. Her personality diminished in Johto. Even if May left, we would get a newer, better replacement.

No, because why would she. It has nothing to do with her goal, and she's never shown an interest in Contests (though to be fair it's not like we've ever seen her anywhere near a Contest). You could argue that the specific skills involved in Contests can make a person a better Trainer overall, but that applies just as well to Ash, for example, and I'm sure we'll never see him in a Contest.

Unless Ash gets pressured by Drew or some other coordinator that he's a lousy trainer and he'd be no good at Pokemon Contests, which will result in Ash in his stubborness and frustration running into the Contest hall and getting a Contest pass.

They could easily throw in a plot device of Ash trying to show up a snooty coordinator to get him in a Contest, but I probably wouldn't like that, since if Ash battled May in the Contest, Ash would most likely win and upstage her in her own goal.

But hey, it's not impossible for Ash to be in a Contest someday.

This is a bad site to ask that kind of question. Most people on this site seem to hate Misty for some reason, particularly the May fans. To answer it, it could be fun to see her enter one but not upstage the current contest characters. That would just be ridiculous
