Okay, so we know the lab isn't in the home town anymore right? Well in all the games there's been grass between the hime town and second "real" town, so how do you battle exactly? How does the trainer defend himself? This means you probably don't directly get your starter from the lab, so it could be a situation like in R/S (although I can't see this professor getting into trouble like that...) or maybe you find his lost pokeballs...All I know, it's gonna be different from previous games

You gave the answer yourself when you said you know it's going to be different from previous games. :/ Supposing they don't place grass within the route connecting the starter town and the second town?

Although, I would like a new circumstance...

I dunno lol
Methinks you're reading too much into this. How do you KNOW he doesn't have any pokemon? You can't prove without a doubt anything like what you're saying with the info we've got. Just, don't read into things so much. We'll find out questions like this when the games come out. I personally think he has pokemon. But, we can't prove anything with the info given at the moment. If he doesn't have any pokemon though, he could be on some kind of errand...:p

Hand-to-hand combat. >_>

We don't know if he actually owns any pokémon, it remains a mystery, though he could be like Wally and be given a pokémon but has to give it back later, you know like how he caught Ralts, eh.

Perhaps there is no grass... Or you meet the prof before you get to his lab and get your pkmn before.

Maybe there is grass, and the game is set up tso that after like 3 steps or something a wild pokemon appears. You can't run, or attack, and you lose the battle. Then the prof. comes and hrlps at the last second? Not syre. UJust a theory

It's got to be said: the possibilities are near enough endless. It could happen anyway.

You can either keep going to the big city or take a left to the other small town.Maybe the lab is that little green or red house...just wait people -.-

No, the town I circled IS where the lab is. I'm saying it's not at the first town like in all the other games, but the second. And in all the games theres been some grass between them so what do you do?

WHERE IS PIDGEOT?!
yeh he's not stupid. i see what you mean. but, maybe the starters arent obtained in the lab? im quite confused by this.

and that picture that PokeFreak posted is not futaba town. thats the third or something town. futaba town is the one with little bluey greeny houses, in the bottom left.

well, a lot of changes have been made, so they couldve changed where your house is...? OR maybe there's a little truck drive to the lab. you get your pokemon, and go back home by jumping ledges, then battle your rival. then you make your way back up to the lab, but this time you can't jump the ledges - you have to battle whilst going through the grass and up the steps. then when you get to the lab again, you get pokedex and pokeballs. then the next routes are opened up for you (ie without a man telling you where to go etc)

but that would be a little weird, considering, you dont usually battle random trainers until you have a pokedex. UUUURGH JUST RELEASE THE GAME AND LET US PLAY ITAND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER

shove it up ya bum!
I'd say Game Freak purposely left the pokeballs out of the picture, perhaps we'll be recieving more than one starter this time.

But I must say, good eye with that house!

You may encounter the professor across the land + who said you didn't have your pokemon at that time, lets see here the person in the screenshots has a Bouysel Lv.20-30... so pointless thread,...Fu.

Or then you just start from the town where the lab is? A lot of changes there are, and perhaps will be.
