How do you get a shiny pokemon?

I've been playing mt sapphire/emerald games forever and have not even ever seen a shiny pokemon! In silver I did alot, but in sapphire I never saw a shiny one! Okay is there a way to get a shiny pokemon or are the odds 10952562 to 1?

You can get a shiny by encountering wild pokemons.
However its very rare.

Yep, just gotta be real lucky. Oc course you can always soft reset on the Legendaries...but that takes a long time, better to just wander in grass and then get surprised, such a great feeling.

This belongs in the RSE shiny thread. Anyway the way to aquire a shiny is to search for one by: hatching eggs, soft-reseting, fishing, or walking around.But you have to remember there is a 1/8192 chance of geting one.

It's a 1/8192 chance to encounter a shiny pokemon in the wild or by hatching it from eggs so you need to be very lucky to find one

It just comes at Random times. That's why they're so rare.
