I suppose I play like a pro, since I've played pretty much all of the pokemon RPGs (not counting Ruby or LeafGreen).

EV training has nothing to do with the topic.

No EV's are very much related to playing like a pro.. You could have meant that, you play you're hardest at training, battling ect.. But you don't care about EV's and IV's; This is how I play until I've beaten the game, then I make a more competitive team.

That better be sarcasm :p Ev training is ofcourse a professional way to train and its just what I do. Top class pokemon for more intense battles with friends

Edit : Talking about the one before the previous post...very slow typer

whether you like it or not anyone who is a pro at other pokemon games, myself included, is an amateur at any new game hat comes out, unless you look at spoilers and whatnot. You don't know the pokemon, the moves, the gyms, the storyline, the places, where to go, or the newest features. This was not meant for anyone in particular, I'm just sayin'.

Well, I don't have every game ever invented b/c I'm poor, but I do have a lot of them. When I get a new game, I don't like to play as if I know everything, b/c I don't. I like to take the brand new game that I've never played before and talk to everyone, and get all the information that I can get. But when I start up a new file in one of my old games, obviously I know everything, so that's how I play it. So how I play depends on what game I'm playing.

Nothing to be done
Isn't there an "inbetween" option? Having played Pokemon since the beginning, and reading the plethora of tips and strategies to be found on this site, I certainly have the ability and knowledge to play like a pro. I am conscious of natures, and movesets, etc, etc. However, building a competitive team, EV training, or bothering to "catch 'em all" just doesn't appeal to me. It's just not fun. I play through the game, assemble a moderately good team of Pokemon I either like or haven't used before, beat the game, and then start over with a new team.
